I forget how good of a speaker MacT is sometimes. After listening to some other folks over the last hour, I remember now.

So, does this mean kLo will be busy with media for the rest of the day and I can forget about hitting refresh until we sign somebody?

To recap Klowe's internview:

KLowe applauded Marian's choice even though he is disappointed that he didn't come to E-town. Respects it because he is obviously going for a cup. He sensed they were one of the finalists. If anything it drives Oilers to be a better team. Do they revisit Marian in a year? Yes, absolutely.

Want to model team after Wings if that's what it takes to lure free agents. Will continue to develop young talent and work on it.

Going to call Jagr? Avoided question (laughed) moved on to say Shawn Horcoff did an amazing job helping with Hossa deal. Said it was an amazing experience trying to land him.

Interesting, MacT mentioned that Joni had informed the team he wasnt interested in coming back to the team. He also had a lot of doubts, as did everyone, about his willingness to do what it takes to win.

gives a different perspective to the trade

Wow, MacT really ***** slapped Pits. I missed part of it, but he pretty much said he was a head case and he hopes he can get his **** together in Carolina and he welcomes Cole.

MacT saying that he hopes Jagr signs on.

So, there is definitely spark to that fire now that Hossa is out of the mix. Get er down Klowe!

Mact just said there was a start of some dialogue with Jagr and he would love to add him if the priorities and interest match.

Good job from all of the TEAM 1260 team so far.

I especially like MacT's comments about golfing... the last place the coach of the Edmonton Oilers wants to be is on a golf course... ha!

All in all everyone seemed really happy and excited for the upcoming season. So it's not just us fans that are acting excited.

Mentioning it's the most attended press conference he had ever been at. Even larger than Heritage Classic press conference. Mentioning if they can get a winning tradition going, that's what it takes to get success.

Did Bob just say that Robert Nilsson was the best passer on the team with Vishnovsky giving him a run for his money? I respect a mans opinion, but is he nuts? Has he forgotten Ales Hemsky is on this team? I emailed him mentioning and asking the same thing.

Hmm, maybe Joni wasn't as comfortable in Edmonton as many had thought. They did a good job of keeping that under wraps so taht we didn't have to trade Joni from a point of weakness like Pronger.

Many also didn't see Hossa giving Edmonton a chance in hell. Due to Edmontons offer it stalled Hossa's decision.

I guess that explains why there wasn't any reports of contract negotiations going on.

Those of us old enough can remember when Premier Don Getty was caught golfing at the Mayfair while the Principal Group was going belly up. It ended his career.

I have a feeling Ritch Winter will be a friend of the Oilers with Katz in control.

joni wasn't conmfortable in Philly either. I don't think it has much to do with the city, but a lot with Joni. He seemed like a bit of a loner, which is ok in general, but not so 'ok' in a team sport.

I'll take Erik Cole for Joni every day of the year.
