I know. I just threw it out there.

If you were going to say RFA I was going to throw O'Sullivan out there.

Disclaimer - I haven't fully looked over to see if they were still available or not as I haven't found a 100% accurate list of who is left after the two days of UFA madness.

Anyhoo, it's slim pickin's at Left Wing..

Petr Cajanek - Why not?
Ladislav Nagy - But that's a risk given his 'just playing to collect a paycheck' tendencies.
Brendan Shanahan
Matt Cooke

or if you want to look at all forwards...

Bertuzzi - I know, I know I'm just throwin' it out there...
Pavol Demetra
David Vyborny - Had an off year. Might be worth looking at.
Jesse Boulerice - I keed. I keed.
Jagr - Way past his prime but who knows.
Fedor Fedorov - Just throwin' it out there for a 1 year
Brendan Morrison
Jaroslav Hlinka - not to sure about him...

::edit::

Scratch Petr Cajanek. Just got a list of his injuries over the past few years...

So what your saying is Naslund is probably the 2nd best player available

I would like the signing of Naslund because
A)Vancouver loses a 20+ goal scorer
B)Minny doesn't get him(rumoured to be interested)
C)would help Oilers imo

ADD A,B,C and it = Oilers get better and at the same time doesn't allow are rivals to improve

He had more goals than any Oiler player.

He was 'demoted' because AV uses a blender to make up his lines and because he was the only other offensive guy to put out there to try to jumpstart the other players out there. To say Naslund didn't buy into the system is a stupid claim and you know it. He backchecked more than he ever did on this franchise and made a lot of great defensive plays.
I guess he was blended down to the third line for sucking it out, then. Näslund was a great player five years ago, but he just isn't as good anymore.

And I'd rather get Havlat for:
A) Nobody else gets him (including VAN or MIN)
B) Weakens a conference rival (CHI) that got a lot stronger with UFA signings
C) CHI NEEDS to make cap room due to signings and he's the likely candidate to be shipped but they also can't ask for too much, having painted themselves in a corner.
D) Havlat improves a team MUCH more than Naslund does when he's healthy, so it this case, it would be us who improves.
E) We have excess top6 forwards now but a least the others can play top six when he'll be injured.
F) UFA at the end of the year, so he doesn't interfere with our long term plans, if he sucks, we can trade him at deadline.
G) he would help break our last record of man loss games to injury.

All this is if the trade is reasonable. But it doesn't look like the teams that need offense have much to trade or need for him (VAN, MIN, CBJ, LA, etc.), so I like our chances to get him at a reasonable price.

I can't see Naslund playing for another North West team.. playing in GM place three times a year....

If it's not Vancouver he's going to Pittsburgh where he'll get 30+ goals easy..... some of the Naslund haters are really funny, there was one saying Naslund would be lucky to score 25 goals with Crosby... he then went off on a long rant about his boyfriend Linden.
