Always liked Yan. I have a game-used stick of his from when he played in the Oilers rookie camp.

I doubt it's a two-way deal. I think Blues have seen enough to pencil him in on the 4th line.

only if a Hinote deal is in the process or as injury spot duty.

Seriously. The Blues are overstocked on 4th line forwards. Assuming Berglund makes the team out of training camp, it'll look like this:
Tkachuk
Kariya
Boyes
McDonald
Perron
Backes
Stempniak
Oshie
Berglund
McClement
King
Hinote
Janssen

Yan would be the 14th forward, and I'm not sure he's a lock to make the team ahead of Lemtyugov or Porter. I have a feeling they'll start the season with Tkachuk back on wing, Oshie on wing, Berglund centering a scoring line, and McClement centering the third line (as opposed to the fourth, as most fans project). Which makes the fourth line perfect for Stastny. But I think the only roster slots safe on an Andy Murray team belong to veterans.

Most teams carry 14 forwards. He'll fight it out with Porter for that spot.

It all actually makes sense. It might be interesting to see some of the lines that Murray puts together this year.
