Also won't ask to be paid and treated like THE guy, and the entire offense doesn't have to be fed through him.

Who the hell cares about that if the team isn't going to be as good... And they won't be.
The depth blows right now and Naslund isn't skilled enough to carry things.

I guess that's the difference between us. I'm willing to take a step back next year so we can move on as an organization.

Those bashing Naslund.. the Canucks play a very defensive style that is not good for Naslund and the way he likes to play.. given the proper linemates and system he'll pot 30+.

And the logic is flawed... What is the difference between having Jagr 1 or 2 years as opposed to having Naslund for 1 or 2 years?

I totally agree if Jagr wanted back he should take the freaking 6 million dollar deal ...............
Is this it for him?........I would have to say so.............not much cap space left and they have holes on D and their RFA's
I think this completes the forward group

The Difference is this is not Jagr's team anymore and he is being a baby about it.......he had a bad yr for him..........REALLY picked it up in the playoffs and I give him all the credit in the world
BUT to say he didnt try hard in the yr and to say he needs to be the highest paid guy and feel important.....I think it is time to go...........Lundqvist, Gomez, Drury, Redden can carry this team............

I love Jagr, but if it's 4.5 million with some room to spare then it's better than going 7 million for Jagr and having much less room.

This potential signing of Naslund doesn't do anything for me.... We're still short 2 defensemen...

Naslund is a piece of the puzzle. The Rangers don't adjust to what he wants, he adjusts to what the Rangers are trying to build. He helps develop the younger players in this style.
Jagr wanted to be the center of attention, he wanted to be the highest paid, he wanted the offense catered to him. Sure, it would have made us a better team next year, but at some time the team has to go to Gomez/Drury and move to their style (which is the style I believe Renney and the front office want).
I loved Jagr, and if they re-signed him I wouldn't have been angry or anything. But on the other hand, I'm glad they're finally moving on as an organization and preparing for the future.

For the last 2 years, Canucks were exactly stocked with high power talent.

We also have quite a few pieces that could be moved for d-men, I'm not too worried about that.

To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised to see Prucha and Callahan moved for a better-than-average #4/5 guy. We have a ton of 3rd and 4th liners. It's not even like we have a ton of room for them in Hartford either.

The Rangers have offensive forwards and a couple of amazing centremen. Naslund was stuck with pluggers for half the time.

Are these conferences streamed anywhere or do we have to rely on the beat writers to fill us in?
