Excellent goalie depth. Plus I'm curious to see what a few rounds with Melanson could do for him -- this is a guy who was pegged as a #1 before.

Halak is now expendable if a good deal comes along.

Good deal.

If we have to move Halak, Denis is fine as back-up. He also is a veteran presence down in Hamilton that gives them a chance to compete.

ZOMG QUEBECERS

I always liked Denis, I felt bad about how things worked out in TB for him.

At least it is a 2-way deal. I really hope we do not see him in Montreal because that means either an injury or the 2 young guys are stinking it up.

Like I said... I'm *really* curious to see what working with Melanson does for him.

He's been pegged as a #1 before, this could turn into a real steal. And if not -- no biggie, it's a two-way deal.

He can be sent in the AHL and paid less money. If the deal is structured correctly he doesn't have to clear waivers to do so.

Gets AHL money if he plays in the AHL and gets NHL money if he plays in the NHL.

If he has a great year in Hamilton may allow us to trade Halak at the trade deadline

Fantastic signing, even if he doesn't play a second for the Habs. He'll be a good #1 in Hamilton, mentor Desjardins, and if one of Carey or Jaro goes down with an injury, he can be a good backup for us in the NHL.

No Denis is 3rd string... thats why its a two way deal....

We all knew we needed a goalie to start in Hamilton and be injury insurance.... Don't want to be forced to call up Desjardins if Halak or Price gets hurt.

It's a 2 way deal, they already said they wanted a experience goalie for Hamilton.

If the Habs get a great offer for Halak, it does give them secrurity to have a guy like Denis in Hamilton.

Marc is also like Huet in term of how great a gy he is. If he were to play in MTL, he could be a tremendous veteran to help Carey when needed.

Big fan of this signing. He'll give Hamilton an NHL vet with the abiliy to come up to the big club in a real pinch, because I really don't see Desjardins being able to do so.
