Watching it on RIS right now and Bob basically admitted that he was wrong about not having a tough guy on the team and that he realized it at the end of the season and during the playoffs last year.

Said that our 4 centers are Koivu , Pleks , Chipper and Lappy but he's still open to possibilities and Sundin.

Gainey says the door is open for a centre (ala Sundin), though right now he says he has 4 centres in his lineup (including Chippy)

He says that the door is still open if a player can improve the team they will start talks with him.

He also says it's not nesesairly Sundin or go home. Any player who will improve the team.

He didn't specify center. They asked Center, but he said player. Could be defence or forward...just a player who will improve the team.

Someone. Photoshop. This. Now.

A Jeff Finger picture on the box of cereal would be good too.

So Bob is definitely not ''done'' is what I take out of this PC.

Scratch Jagr off your list, we're filled at wings. Gainey is not interested.

Woot! Didn't want Jagr nowhere near the habs

He is happy with the way Sundin went about things.....not signing because he is not sure to play.
He said he would have been mad if he signed him and sundin wasnt sure to play.

CKAC wasn't doing anything. I flicked on Team990 and they cut out of Gainey's PC after I started listening.

I'm just not going to listen.

Said that Denis told him that the market clearly told him today that he'd need to rebuild his career so the plan is for Denis to go to Hamilton and start from there.

nor should he...

just get us sundin and we'll all be happy. we're pretty much the only team in the running for his services. he wants to stay in eastern canada, and he's not going back to play as the no.2 center behind grabovsky in toronto.

get er done bob! let all of those teams with crap management spend towards the cap limit, this is one time where your patience will payout in dividends!

Bob Gainey: '' Georges était très excitant''

Coming from Bob Gainey press conference, maybe Bob is looking for a new companion

edit: Alright, I really really like Bob Gainey, but I'm rolling on the floor laughing since 15 mins.

edit (2): In english it mean, Georges was really exciting.

Why? It would be Fletcher who would be penciled in next to Mike Milburry in the "worst gms" list.

Er he could go back as the no. 1 center, you know. In fact we have much more center depth than the Leafs do so if that's his concern, he probably would choose Toronto.
