With free-agent frenzy starting in about six hours, here is the place to post all signings, trades and retirements around the league.
Instead of having numerous redundant threads let's try to keep a running thread for all NON Flames transactions leading up to and into free agency. Flames deals will have their own threads as we go.
Please post ONLY CONFIRMED deals here with source.
All other threads covering NON Flames transactions will be merged with this one without further comment.
The Washington Capitals have agreed to terms with restricted free agent defenceman Mike Green.
Sources tell TSN it's a four year deal with an average annual salary of $5.25 million.
I do not think the will do anything. just a a depth forward and 6-7 d-man. It sucks but what can you do. And I am aslo going to say that the Flames will finish 6-7 in the standing and it will be a first round out. And hopefully they fire Keenan and hopefully Sutter.
Oh and the new jersey devils have signed Bryce Salvador four-year deal worth an average of $2.9 million per year. www.TSN.CA
and the The Buffalo Sabres have re-signed forward Paul Gaustad to a four-year, $9.2 million contract. Gaustad will earn $1.7 million in the first year of the deal, and $2.5 million per year for the remaining three. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=2420...s=secStory_nhl
According to TSN the Oilers have traded Raffi Torres to Columbus in exchange for Gilbert Brule.
Can't say, that I like this trade from a Flames' POV. Brule has not played up to the huge expectations in Columbus, but maybe a change of scenery will turn his career around. If so, the Oil wins this trade hands down and gets another huge asset up front.

Great trade for the Oilers. Brule still has a lot of potential and to get him for a guy like Torres is an absolute steal.
The Anaheim Ducks have agreed to terms on restricted free agent forward Corey Perry. It is five-year deal worth $26.625 million and an average of $5.325 a year.
Sources tell TSN the Detroit Red Wings and veteran defenseman Brad Stuart have agreed to terms on a four-year contract that averages $3.75 million per season.

It pains me to say this but Oilers have made some good moves the last couple days, whereas Sutters moves have not impressed me. The moves seem very "HF-friendly," (picking up young names like Brule, generally "winning" each trade) where Rene Bourque for a 2nd is bad move around here. I don't know enough about Bourques game to get excited about it, maybe theres a reason for that.
We'll see how it all shakes out, I'm a patient guy, just underwhelmed by the offseason thus far.
Another division rival bolsters its roster:
According to the Fan960, the Wild signed Brunette to a multi-year contract and acquired Zidlicky from Nashville.

They gave up way too much in that Zidlicky trade. I'm with Pierre.
The native of Montreal, Quebec has signed a three-year contract with the Canadiens, reportedly worth $4.5 million. The deal includes a partial no-trade clause.
Markus Naslund is off the available list for free agents, as the Swedish winger has signed a 2-year contract with the New York Rangers.

The Rangers also announced the signing of defencemen Dmitri Kalinin to a one-year contract. The 27-year old played 46 games for the Buffalo Sabres and marked one goal and seven assists. In eight seasons with the Sabres, Kalinin has 145 points in 466 games.
