Most people consider Brodeur to be the best goalie in the league so outside of Marty who would you take as the top 5 goalies in the league? Not necessarily the top 5 this season but the top 5 you'd want on your team? By the way, order isn't really an issue just name your top 5 and don't include Hasek since he's been hurt all year.

Khabby
Luongo
Turco
Theodore
Nabokov

(w/ Belfour a close 6th)

I think Belfour right now is proving he deserves to be on that list.

that looks pretty close, but I'm not a Khabibulin fan in terms of individual talent..

I'd say

Luongo
Theodore
Turco
Nabokov
Kiprusoff

with Vokoun and Roloson close behind

Raycroft is only having a great season, but he will become the #2 of the Bruins. Hannu Toivonen is just too good.

I like this a lot. But I am not completely sold Turco just yet. I'd put him in the top 5 aswell, but I'm sure about his long term success

Theodore - definitely
Luongo - definitely
Belfour - probably, but how does he help his team when he's hurt?

Guys who arguably THIS SEASON who could/should be on the list:
Marc Denis - the only reason Columbus is in any of the games
Mikka Kiprusoff - had he played more games he could arguably be a Vezina candidate
Andrew Raycroft - like someone mentioned before, he's the reason Boston is currently in 5th
David Aebischer - silenced the critics and has stolen games for Colorado
Tomas Vokoun - One of the biggest reason's why Nashville holds a playoff spot

there's more but these, to me, are the ones who really stick out

I find that an odd criticism. IMO he has all the talent in the world and great technique. To me, his biggest problem is his consistency and possibly his mental focus. I say possibly because I'm not his shrink, but that's what it seems like to me.

I'm obviously biased, but just thought I'd throw that out there.

How could anyone call Aebischer a top goalie in the league? This is his first year starting.

If you aren't counting Brodeur, my top 5 list breaks down like this (in no particular order):

Theodore
Turco
Belfour
Giguere (crappy year but 3 good years before this one)
Luongo

Some guys this season have played well (Kiprusoff, Aebischer and Raycroft come to mind) but I think you need at least a season or two of good play.

My top 5:

Belfour
Khabibulin
Luongo
Nabokov
Turco

It was tough leaving out Kolzig. Roloson is also doing pretty good and a nice inspiration for goalies.

Aebisher, Niittymaki, DiPietro, Raycroft and Kiprussoff are nice up and comers.

What else does he have to do to prove himself? He had a record breaking season last year. And after a slow start this year, he has been terrific. Not to mention he has been playing the past few weeks with a broken foot, and still playing great.

IMO Vokoun hasn't been near the top 5 since he was named to the all-star team.

Kolzig and Turco don't make my top 15 list. Turco had one great season. He had several average ones before that. Kolzig has just always been horribly overrated.
Belfour before his injury would be pushing the top 5.
Raycroft is having a nice year as well.
