I'm thinking we may give Sully a qualifing offer, and let him walk and take a pick.

"Scott Walker is the prototype Nashville Predator, and we are pleased to announce that we have signed him to a long-term deal," said Poile.

My thoughts exactly. Glad to see he signed a long-term deal. Great news.

This is wonderful. I hope its not too much money, but regardless, he is the heart of this team.......we had to resign him.

Great news. This coupled with the Sullivan trade are two real promising signs of the organization's dedication to winning and icing a quality team. Walker is having a great season thus far too. 52GP 17G, 21A - not too shabby,

Walker has 24 points (nine goals, 15 assists) in his last 26 games.

I agree 100% This may actually be the shot in the arm that the team needs tright now. Someone who can score goals and take some of the pressure off of Vokoun right now would be fantastic!!

Scott Hartnell said on his radio show Tuesday that it wsa like, "A shot of Vitamin B12" when learning about the Sullivan trade in the locker room at Columbus after the game!

Believe it or not, I think this signing will make Walker play even better. He can deny it all he wants but I have to believe it was in the back of his mind during games this season. Now he can go out there and just play and not worry about his contract or if he would be moved. Plus add Sullivan and this is a team that just got a huge energy boost at just the right time. Now I’m really excited for Wednesday’s game (not that I wasn’t looking forward to it anyways)!

Anyone else shocked he signed for 6m over 3 years? I would have thought Walker would have cost them much more than that.

Last night on the scott walker show, he said he plans on playing in Nashville until he retires and that money is no issue. also, I'd say with the unknowns from the upcoming CBA, the 6m probably sounded good

Those guys from the Citypaper do it right again.

according to the CityPaper, we've still got York *cringes*, Legwand, Hartnell, AJ and Vokoun yet to re up with.

Scott plays, because he loves the game...the $$ is just a bonus. The NHL wouldn't have salary troubles if more players played for the right reasons. Him taking the 2mil/yr is a tremendous statement of his character, and love for the organization.

This issue had always been the length of the contract, not the money. The team wanted two years while Walks wanted three.
