Lowe throws a verbal grenade at Burke

Lowe just trashed Burke on the team 1260. A sampling of the quotes

"First of all, he's a moron"

"He's a media junkie"

"He's an underacheiver"

"He won a cup sure, I won 6. Wanna count rings?"

"Other GM's are sick of him"

"He destroyed the Vancouver franchise"

"Left Nonis nothing to work with"

I'm sure other posters who caught the entire interview can fill in the rest. It was totally epic.

I agree with all of this.

Why he is the consensus choice for Maple Leafs GM is beyond me.

LMFAO. This is awesome. Someone should just put him in a room with Burke.

Go Lowe!

Burke convinced Canucks fans that Dan Cloutier was the number one guy...

He stated Murray got those guys, Perry and Getzlaf.

He inherited a good team in Anaheim.

He also mentioned that Dean Lombardi thought the Burke-Lowe fued was made up to attract more media attention to the NHL. LOL

It's all true... Kevin has probably been sitting on this for a while. He tried to be professional for the last year despite Burke continually prodding him. Burke is highly overrated and he just got what was coming to him.

Oh yeah, the best part was something to the effect of....

"He left Nonis with nothing. If it wasn't for Nonis conning Kennan into the Luongo deal, Vancouver is done"

LOL

It only took him a year to come up with it.

No it took Burkes continued babbling this offseason to finally force Lowe to put him in his place.

He forgot to say this:

"Murray built that Anaheim Cup winner, Burke just reaped the rewards."

...well that one would be a stretch.

Good for Lowe. While I appreciate Burke's candidness, he's really come across like a whiny baby in this whole matter. The worst part is his reluctance to let the thing go despite the fact that pretty much everyone else in the world has moved on.

Burke has taken about 5 or 6 shots at Lowe since the last him he said anything. It was about time. Burke was out of line. Lowe's job couldn't be any safer and his team is only going to get better. The Ducks on the other hand have been on a steady decline since winning the cup....or since Burke had been given just enough time to start undoing all Murray's work.

Why can't they just both accept that they're mediocre GM's and move on with their lives?
