Sad situation to have to replace Souray at this time of the season , BUT , Houray for Komi, I'd love to see him step up to the challenge, Love the way he's been playing lately , NICE HITS.

I think this is the perfect time for CJ to bump up his icetime. He starting to play with more of an edge, which is what a physical defenseman needs. He is also starting to create more chances offfensively.

I think everybody has been happy with Komisarek's devolpment this season. It's good to see a kid with his size and skill show that he has the work ethic to match. I dunno if he'll ever be a Norris candidate but I really think he is going to be a good fixture on our blueline for years to come.

Now lets hope Ron Hainsey sees this and decided to adopt a 'Komisarek' type work ethic.

Montreal told him to get a place, and he has moved out of the hotel. that is a good sign.

Didn't they tell him or Hainsey that last year?

have a link for that?

Congrats to Komi on the full time promotion.

All star, I don't think so. I know Ryder was told to get his place at the start of this year but I don't think they ever told that to Ron or Mike.

I could have been thinking about Ryder... my mistake.

They told Marcel Hossa that last year... At the time, he deserved it, and barring a collapse (which did happen) he would still be here right now.

The only positive thing about Souray's injury is Komi icetime going up. I hope he will end the season on a positive note so that he will have good confidence straight from the training camp next year.

You mean, there are still people deluded enough to believe that big goof could one day be a Norris candidate? Give your head a good shake. The guy will not even be a best D on a team, much less a Norris candidate.

He is painfully ordinary.

Thornton was great when he first arrived in the league eh?

[I KNOW that Thornton was younger but learning to play D takes longer]

I really doubt that He'll ever be a Norris candidate, but he's going to be important to us, I'm pretty sure. Maybe something like Norstrom...

I've been watching him closely this season and I think he'll become a good #3 for this team. Intimidating physically, able to make good outlet passes and able to put a heavy shot on the net once in a while. I don't see him as a first pairing guy though. He simply doesn't have the hockey sense and mobility. Hope he proves me wrong.

When Komisarek played few games in a row he was getting better and better , and it's not for nothing that he was named 2 times on the AHL All-Star team . Komisarek was te potential to be a top3 d-man for us but it could takes more time than expected , maybe like Aki Berg or something like that . Berg was a top pick and wasen't very good but was still a decent 3rd pairing d-man until de bloom with the Laffs this year ( he's the best d-man for them according to Leafs fans ) . Talking about the norris is premature , it's crystal clear that he don't have Bowmeester or Pitkanen skillz level . Komisarek is more like a guy like Klesla , they won't make big splash early but if the develop well they're gonna be terrific .

What the habs needed most is a big physical defenseman and that is what they got.

He's not a no.1 defenseman, nor a no.2 but might make a decent 3rd or 4th physical defenseman ala Daneyko although I'm hoping he develops into a Norstrom or Foote.
