Um, Habs traded Grabovski because the guy acted like a pompous dick and infuriated the entire team with his antics. If Grabovski could put on a few more pounds (as he's freaking light) he'd be just awesome, as the kid shows no fear even with the lack of size. But his stature had no part of his departure.

The following centers are considered as 'small' by many standards on here:
Crosby, Richards, Datsyuk, Roy, Briere, Plekanec, Ribeiro, Sedin, Gomez, Drury, Backstrom, Cammalleri and heck even Stastny.

As long as you play with heart and grit...you'll do enough to make up for your stature if you have the appropriate talent...and buddy O'Sullivan has the equivalent skill set to many of the aforementioned centers.

2) His ceiling is pretty high and it makes little sense for him to lock himself into a long-term deal when he might be worth $5M in 3-4 years.
3) I'm not aware of any wife and kid that would, like in Brown's case, encourage him to sacrifice money for long-term security and stability.

I think that we'll see O'Sullivan sign a one or two-year deal. That's what Brown did a few years ago, and he went on to establish himself and prove himself to the organization. I can then see O'Sullivan signing a long-term deal when that deal is up. On the other hand, I can also see him just signing one and two-year deals one after another because of continued disagreement with management over money, ala Cammalleri. Hopefully, we won't have to watch that again and things will work out with O'Sullivan more like they did with Brown and less like they did with Cammalleri.

BTW, Sparepart, he's offensive-minded, yes, but he also really worked on his defensive game this last season and was one of the more important players on the team's PK. If he keeps this up, he may develop into a good two-way player.
What you say is probably right, but my comment was riddled with sarcasm as it was a jab at eklund's ability to be incredibly wrong.

Can we just have an answer to that one? Why would LA just be interested in getting rid of him?

I really don't give a damn to be honest. IMO a team with Pleks and Koivu as the top two centers, doesn't need another small offensive center to play on the third line. O'Sullivan is a good player and if the Habs had more size down the middle I'd welcome him on the Habs. But given the current roster makeup, IMO it doesn't make sense to acquire him and give up significant assets. At the end of the day, no matter how hard Koivu, Pleks and O'Sullivan would work, they can't handle talented big men.

Your right. He is so good that I have trouble following everything he comes up with.

I'm surprised the Canucks aren't being mentioned, they should be all over O'Sullivan.

How could the Kings not match any offer that was sent his way? Not just from a hockey standpoint but because they are, what, $15 mil below the cap floor at this time. They have some spaces to fill but a good chunk of that money to reach the floor is likely ear marked for O'Sullivan and Stoll.
