Rangers Interested in O'Sullivan

As per our buddy Eklund, the Rangers and Habs are interested in LA's Patrick O'Sullivan. I think he would be a good addition for that final spot on the 2nd line.

I would rather have Vermette.

well i was hoping for him, but now it wont happen.........also, the habs have a TON of depth.....it doesnt make sense for them to trade when they already have plekanec, both kostitsyns, kovalev, tanguay, higgins, koivu plus prospects like gregeshkov.....there wouldnt be a spot for him

And there's your potential "2-for-1 deal for a pending RFA that could play in the top six" trade that's been discussed. Granted, it's Eklund...but it's the type of deal that seems likely to take place.

This kid is good, I want him. They would probably want a decent player/players in return.

He is currently an RFA. He had 53 pts last season (22 goals 31 assists). He can play center or either wing I believe. And he is 23 years old. I wonder what it would cost to get him.

Hollweg really should be a King. He could round out a package. Hometown boy playing on the big team would be great PR

This would be an excellent pickup. The kid is pretty sound defensively, has a wicked wrister and imo has a pretty high ceiling. If Glen pulls this move off then it would be a great end to an excellent offseason.

Well the rangers do need to get rid of some pretty good assets. They have a lot to offer right now.

This is the exact situation I thought the Sather would pursue...much like the Zherdev deal...young RFA that a team is having trouble signing and would look to get young talent back, something the Rangers have an abundance in...they also just moved Cammaleri, so the Ranger could actually throw a couple of young wingers their way.

So suddenly everyone's interested in another small forward?

And what does LA want? They have forwards, they have defense, they have goaltending...woo, the Rangers can offer them some 3rd and 4th line prospects? Oh boy.

I'd rather stick with Dawes then deal with this. Why does everyoen not like Dawes anyways

Its not even just that, the Kings deperately need to get to the cap floor. This could be the perfect opportunity for Slats to offload some of that salary, while throwing some of our 3rd line players to the Kings. As I said this could strictly be a way for Lombardi to try and hit the cap floor, lord knows they have an abundance of young players over there.

So would it be smarter to send an offer sheet or trade for the kid?

I can agree with you to a certain extent, however all things considered potential wise: Osullivan > Dawes.

As I said LA wants to hit the cap floor lol....
