GDT: David vs Goliath Feb 18, 2004 7:30pm MST on TSN

Lets hope the boys stocked up on pebbles. The Oilers stumble into Colorado missing 5 top line forwards and riding a disgruntled and cold Tommy Salo.
Raffi Torres(ankle), Radek Dvorak(groin), Brad Isbister(back), Mike York(finger), Adam Oates(hands). The team is going to need alot of luck and some stellar goaltending to come out of Denver with 2 points.

My predictions have been awful lately so I'll spare you my thoughts. Keep it close and plug them to death.

This has the potential to be a MONUMENTAL asskicking. The Oilers haven't matched well against the Avs all year (except for the first game early in the year, when the Avs were still trying to gel), and the Oilers are going into this one undermanned big time.

I'll file this under 'moral victory' if we can only lose by one goal.

Dvorak is skating in the morning practice so he might be playing. Even so, I don't see us winning this one.

:Edit: Wait, what's wrong with Oates?

You remember Sauve was in net for them, right?
We're doomed.

I believe there was some sarcasm in that.

So your trying to tell me that York, Dvorak, Torres, Isbister, Reasoner, Oates and Conklin are all hurt. I say MacT goes into temporary trap mode until we have some offense back in the lineup.

I will be generous and say we will only lose 5-0, with Bishai and Horcoff leading the way with 3 shots each.

He meant Oates has no hands, not that he's actually injured (I think).

Yeah, and even Ferguson will probably have more ice time at forward than Rita. Let the kid play, the season is over (unless we go .800 down the stretch like MacT wants us too )

Who's gonna replace Oatesy's scoring prowess? Dennis Bonvie?

Why is Fergy getting forward minutes when Im sure Staios is much more competent.

Anyone know what oour 23 man roster consists of at the moment?

I mentioned this the last time, but I think it basically boils down to this:

At forward:

Staois >> Ferguson

On Defense:

Staois >>>>> Ferguson

It's the lesser of two evils

So why not try Bergy at forward? It seems to make sense in every reguard to me... Or are the forwards expected to play better defense than the defensman in Edmonton now and days?

either way tonight the oilers are going to get their collective butts kicked, as a fan of hockey should be enjoyable to watch sakic and kariya not bambi(forsberg).
just a little sidenote on rita, to me, just my opinion, the oilers are going to regret when he does get traded, it is just a formality as to when the oilers rid themselves of him. he will not get a fair shake here and he will get a better chance with another team. if he doesnt make it well then ill eat crow, if he does dammit i wont be happy, then two minutes down the road i then realize again hockey is just a game.

I think MacT would have a massive coronary if he saw something like that in practice, let alone accidentally during a game.

Forsberg is out. According to the TSN reporters: they think he took too much of a beating from the 'Nucks the other night.
