Anyone catch the nifty "puck control" by Brewer at the point? Things are getting better and better

(Edit. Looks like the Oil are playing wide open against the Avs, this could only mean good news.)

Some things

what a joke the Oilers are, ie Fergy on the wing again. What a bunch of clowns.

I love his hustle and his salary but what is Pisani's problem with all these dumb penalties?

Bergy looks so much better on the PP than Brew, it's sick

I've got a wonderful soloution, Matts. Go fly to Denver and play wing for the Oilers. I really hate your constant name-calling

Yeah

what about the time Terry Jones literally ate his own words???

Three shots thus far for MAB. He better watch out or the Oilers will trade him before they get back home to play Van.

What a "smart" penalty by my man Horctavish in the offensive zone. Speaking of name-calling......... lets just say hes not the brightest rented mule on this team.

A goal... A PP Goal.... and the only reason it was scored was because..... Marc Andre Bergeron has found his way back into the lineup.

good first period for a team decimated by injuries although it was so painful to see horcoff and pisani on the pp. cmon im glad smyttie scored but if those other two guys are on the first unit this team has no talent. but they scored yaaaaayyy, lets see what happens in the second, the oilers worst period.

It was a better P.P. for the guys. They clogged up front on Sauve and didn't have a chance on that shot.

Hrm...

Anyone notice how MAB managed to hit the net with practically ever shot on the PP? Resulted in a goal. One of the big reasons our PP has stunk has been because of plays that came to a screeching halt with point shots from Brewer and Staios that missed the net by 4 feet. Good for MAB.

Actually if it wasn't for Pisani tying up his man in front Smyth never get that puck or that goal.

Brew looks like garbage

on the PP compared to what MAB can do. Bergy slips the puck around and has that nice little backswing and subsequently quick release on his shot and GASP, he gets it on the net!!!

I'd say Staios has already called the league office to check if it's legal!!

MAB has three or four shots, some nice passes, looks decent in his own end and even made a nice pinch there a couple of shifts before the goal. Compared to what his usual rearguard brethern produce offensively on a given night, Bergeron looks like Coffey and should get at least a five game bufferzone before they look to farm him out.

Some brutal rebounds from Salo. Doesn't look on and the Avs will light him up if they become interested. But they don't really look into the game and Suave was awful as well with his rebound control. Oilers have sunk to the level where great teams can't get up for them and will play their backup.

Nice to see Smyth get a goal, though.

and what's the extent or particulars on Semi's malady?

I like Brew and all but an offensive dman he's not.

3-0 Oilers!

Don't stop now and as Tommy Larsheid (radio announcer) would say: "Kick 'em while they're down... put the boots to them... don't give a sucker a break!"

spaz hate to break it to you, im talking about their(horcoff and pisani) overall game. im refering to a lack of talent if they are on the pp, dont break it down to one situation. are you that naive to believe on any other team in the league either one of these two would be on the number one pp unit, no i did not think so. it shows our lack of talent and most of all how injuries have decimated this team.

anyhou, good game tonight from the boys, would be nice to see this more often, hard work and all, but i will settle for this stupendous effort from this team tonight.

It finally happened....G. Laraque vs. P. Worrell.
Worrell pulled Georges around the ice more at the beginning, but when they finally got together, it looked too evenly matched for one guy to fully take control. Both got some average shots in.... .

Great game from the Oilers, but the Avs are just stinking the joint out right now.

Like Maguire said, they disrespected the Oilers by their lack of intensity and they're paying for it. Where's Selanne? Kariya? Sakic? Hell, where's any shred of defensive coverage?

The Oilers can't afford to let this game go or let up. PUT THE BOOTS TO 'EM!

Great game tonight, God I love this kid Jarret Stoll. Hemsky in 01, Stoll in 02. No matter what else comes from those drafts, Prendergast and co. did their jobs imo.
