Konolwalchuk should have gotten called for holding the stick before that weird goal.

I'm glad he didn't get the shutout

he only has so many blanks in him and maybe this saves it for a game when we need to win 1-0.

Plus he's been so bloody bad this year he doesn't deserve a shutout on a night when the Avs didn't have three good scoring chances.

Instant karma's gonna get you...

Thats what happens when you refuse to clear the puck against an offensively superior team...

Anyways, good effort on all sides (Smyth is beginning to bring his A game more and more often than at the beginning of the season). I know they wont keep this going, so lets enjoy this one.

(Edit. No MacT, putting Hemsky with Oates will not get them going, it has not worked for a while now, and it probably wont work anytime soon. Still, that wont stop you from trying.)

Can't hold on to a shutout for 40 more seconds? What an *** joke this team is.

Great game, this was obviously a must win. Do it again against the Nucks! I have bragging rights on the line

Yeah, but at the beginning of the game if someone would have told you that the Oilers would win 5-1... you'd be dancing in the street. :p

Nice win and thanks to the Oilers the Canucks have a chance to get within 2 points tomorrow night.

I was pretty pissed at Rita when he lost every puck battle he got invovled in and was the slowest player on an attempted 3 on 2 rush and coughed up the puck.

He needs to do something, anything.

I actually thought Hemsky was awesome tonight... he really had some jump and made a sick little move that he rang off the post in the 2nd period.

Great game for the Oilers. it helped not having the Oiler Killer (Forsberg) out for the game, but hey the Oilers don't have York, Dvo. and the list goes on.

Just happy for the WIN. Good effort all around.
