Why? A paper bag could predict that Demitra to Vancouver is a plausible scenario..

Well in some ways this actually makes sense, I'm guessing that's why he's suggesting it.

Yeah but then again Ryan Smyth re-signing with Edmonton was also a done deal, so it's a sliding scale of "doneness" I guess.

Any confirmation? Does this improve Vancouver's chance of getting Sundin or does it even matter? Must help a bit.....?

Sundin is considering his business opportunities during 2010 Van-hosted Olympics. How can Demitra affect these?

2 hours later, no confirmation. My guess? Demitra's Agent tells assistant to call Eklund and tell him that to Vancouver is done, bidding team's underling visits hockey buzz, tells teams GM whats there, the desired effect is the bidding team's GM panics, calls Demitra's agent, call not returned for an hour or so.

After a wait, agent calls back bidding team, says "well, there's been a hold up, so there's room for another offer...."

Demitra gets paid mad $$.

Eklund gets used

Actually more screwed in the sense that they were to get better to be a solid playoff team with 2-3forwards or scoring 30 more goals at the moment they are backsliding.

higher expectations, and Luongo factor if we become a non playoff team.

Demitra would definitely help the second PP unit.

is the Naslund comparison only because they're European and declining stars?
