I'm hearing Barry Melrose wants to bring in a veteran defenseman to work with his young blue line and sees Sydor as a good fit. The Lightning and Penguins have had preliminary talks and while the Lightning are still exploring other options, some former Penguins are in background trying to get Sydor in a Lightning uniform. The issue at hand right now is the Lightning want either Rob Scuderi or a 3rd round pick for Sydor. If Shero is going to include Scuderi he wants something back in return other than a late round pick.

Carle, Kuba, Ranger, O'Brien, Picard, Lundin, Hutchinson, Niskala; who's going to the AHL...Lundin? I think Niskala and Hutchinson are on 1-way deals. Plus weren't Smaby or Mihalik going to get a good look this season?
This makes sense because Melrose had Sydor back in LA and went to the Cup Finals with him. Obviously, Sydor is a grizzled veteran now, not the youngster that Melrose remembers, but Barry knows his character. Also, I suppose that it would be nice to travel with someone that he has a history with and can relate with.

Yes, But it's looking like someone on the blueline is going to have to go through waivers before the start of the season.
Yeah I agree, but personally I would much rather lose Hutchinson/Niskala/Kuba than lose Lundin as they may be better short term, but long term I think Lundin could be better in the future.

Honestly, that was the last time he played well. He was horrible his last year in Tampa & he's been on 3 teams since the lockout. Great locker room guy, but waaaaaay past his prime & massively overpaid to boot. I still LOL about Dallas fans acting like they'd "won" giving us a 4th for the guy.
A 4th round pick is about right for him so i really don't see the problem...And i never lol'd.....
What i did lol about is the fact that you singed Recchi to a 1yr deal worth 2 million and they waived him. Then he was picked up by atlanta and showed he still has some left. In Atlanta he has 12 goals and 28 assists. I think that if you had him the chances of you beating Detroit could of been better.
