- I thought Ryder was going to score over 35 goals this year...
- I thought Hamrlik was going to provide more offense and be a liability defensively
- I also thought Kovalev was finished

- Thought Ryder had the potential to be a 40-45 goal scorer, perhaps even 50!
- Thought Sergei Kostitsyn would need a few years in the AHL before coming in
- Had high hopes for Francois Groleau (remember him)?
- Never thought the Habs would finish first, but did think they would make the playoffs
- Thought the bulldogs would do beter than they did
- Thought Chipchura would make the team

Prospects that I was waaay ff with

- The aforementioned Francois Groleau
- Alexander Perezhogin (did better than I ever thought he would)
- Ron Hainsey (I was one of those naysayers)
- Terry Ryan (thought he'd be a huge player)
- Vadim Tarasov
-

1) I thought that there was no way for S. Kostitsyn to make the NHL last year.
2) I thought Price would have played in the minors.
3) I thought we would have destroyed the Flyers in the playoffs.
4) I expected another 30 goeal season from Ryder.

I am probebly not the only one though.

We sure won't see BigTimer around these parts.....

- I thought we would win in 6 against the Flyers
- I thought Ryder would have a decent season
- I thought Huet would stay till the end of the season/playoffs
- I thought the Flyers wouldn't make the playoffs, although they almost didn't
- I thought Lucic wasn't Emo
- I thought the Habs would try to acquire a top-4 dman to fit with Hammer
- I thought Hammer's offensive numbers would be better, although he did have a very nice season
- I thought the Damned was actually joking when he made all those stupid comments
- I thought Gilette was so in love with Streit that he would get a decent contract by midway into the season

But I was also right about a lot of things too

- I thought Corey Locke would make the NHL
- Hated the Price pick at the time before I read more about him
- I thought Plekanec was a career 3rd liner before the last few seasons

- thought SK was still a ways away from the NHL;`
- thought we should have paid the price for Hossa at the deadline;
- thought Price was ready for the playoffs;
- thought, nonetheless, that Huet should have been kept as insurance heading into the playoffs in case Price faltered

I thought the Habs would finish eight and make the playoffs by the skin of their teeth but would finally win two rounds of playoffs. Actually, they won their conference but again disappeared in the second round.

And a body that could melt a cheese sandwich from across the room. And breasts that seemed to say...”Hey! Look at these!" - I thought Lats was going to have a breakout season
- I thought Higgins would be a 35+ goal scorer
- I thought the habs would finish 4th or 6th

-I was wrong about Price. I thought he'd be with the Dogs all of this year.
-I thought the Habs would fall apart with Huet gone.
-I used to think Chris Higgins was ugly.
-I thought Kovalev was washed up.
-I thought the Habs would finish 8th or 9th and it would come to their last game, which, to be honest I thought they were going to blow.
-I thought they'd beat Philly in 6.

I want to meet Lt. Frank Drebin's mom real bad now.

I've got this cheese sandwich and no toaster over.

I was wrong when I thought ...

... Carbonneau and Kovalev were headed into a dark alley with no one coming out.
... Josh Gorges would not emerge as a good NHL defenseman.
... Price was going to have a Ken Dryden type playoff run.
... GMs would stop handing out crazy contracts after losing a season of hockey to get this under control.

I thought Ryder would score 30 goals(Enough so I took him in all my pools)

I thought Gorges was a Bulldog.

I thought Streit was a defenseman.

I thought we would get an enforcer.

I thought the Senators would win the cup.

One for in season: I thought Dandy was a goner after the whine session.

- Thought Kovalev would not rebound.
- I though Ryder would rebound in the playoffs as well
- I thought Price would do a lot better in the playoffs.
- I thought Higgins would have a better season.
- I never thought Georges would be as he is with room to improve!

LOL no, he's too "Big Time" to have ever said or done anything wrong or untrue

I bet we'll see 24morecupsthanyou cause he likes to add ******** to any argument. According to him I should "go be a leafs fan" cause I said a lot of the habs fan base are idiots. (Never said the ones on HF however)

It's funny, the only people I ever have met who referred to someone as "Big Time", were drug dealers lol. I guess that's how Big Timer gets all his money and stays out of the ghetto, somehow for him that also translates to being a genius about hockey

I was wrong about Grabs, thought he would develop into a good player for us.

I was wrong about Chips, thought he was gonna be a regular on the 4th line last year.

I was wrong about Higgins, but love how is developing into a solid 2 way winger. I just thought he would have blossomed into a 35 - 40 goal scorer last year.

I was wrong about Brisbois, he was way better than I expected he would be, though I hate to admit it.

I thought Kovalev was done, I was wrong.

I was wrong in saying that SKost was not ready for the NHL, and that with his game in the AHL he would be a liability at the NHL level, and he needed more seasoning....

Great idea. We should do these threads weekly.

-I've been wrong about SKost since I saw him at rookie camp. I didn't think he was a good skater and he looked moody.

-I was wrong about Gorges like everyone else.

-I was wrong about Brisebois, he did a decent job.

-I was wrong about Kovalev, he does have a heart!

-I was wrong about Plekanec, he's not just a midget.

-I was wrong about Lapierre, he's not a shutdown center.

-I was wrong about Carbonneau. He's much less predictable than I thought. He's a better coach than even I gave him credit for.

-And many other things.

What were you so adamant about last season that, in hindsight, proved to be wrong?

I'll go 1st:
-I wasn't thrilled with the Hamrlik signing and thought he'd be wildly inconsistent with our team.
-I was positive Brisebois would actually retire before ever playing a regular season game
-I thought Grabovski would establish himself as a scoring threat
-I did not predict the Habs to finish 1st in the East

Now it's your turn.
I was wrong about kovalev being able to get about 80+ points

I can go on but thats the biggest one.

I was wrong when I thought Halak would be the number 2 at the start of this year and Price would come up this year.

I met Gorges and thought he was such a clean cut guy, very religious, strong morals and principles, a real mama's boy, he struck me as the kind of guy raised by his granny...the talk that he'd have a tattoo didn't make sense...I still laught at the pic in p ost # 59!
