I haven't seen anything about Lowell/NJ signing Tyler Burton, so I think you can take him off the team list.

I'm pumped for the Lowell season. I'll have to sneak down when I'm at school for a couple games this year.

Sure. Whenever I get the chance to see a Devils prospect or the AHL team play I usually try to post my thoughts.

Come on down, plenty of good seats available. Bring a few thousand of your closest friends.

Sorry the Lowell deal is too sweet for Lou to pass up. Who cares about actually developing a fan base anyway?

As one of Lowell's 30 fans, I resent that remark.

I feel you're pain, we sit in a 3/4 empty SBA in Trenton on most nights. The magic runs through the whole org.

Actually they averaged about 44% capacity, the arenas listed at 7605 and the attendance average was 3315, this was after a slow start to the season attendance wise but a decent upsurge the last half of the season with I believe over 6500 people the last game of the season. Now before you jump on me for drinking kool aid etc. etc. that is still under 50%, but if you notice they have Scorch promoting at just about every event in the central Jersey area, more than I can remember seeing at least recently.

Hopefully this has a good effect, we shall see. Then maybe you will actually post something positive. I know I know, kool aid, rose colored glasses blah blah blah

They went from 3rd in attendance in 00-01 all the way to 18th last season (and last years numbers were helped along with a way above average last weekend). There were 7 teams below them last season and 3 of them folded this offseason.

99-00 7082 (4th) 37-29-4 78pts .559%

00-01 6695 (3rd) 50-18-4 104pts .722%

01-02 5932 (4th) 46-16-10 102pts .708%

02-03 5299 (6th) 38-24-10 86pts .597%

03-04 5059 (4th) 37-28-7 81pts .597%

04-05 5020 (8th) 42-21-7 93pts .646%

05-06 4300 (13th) 31-36-5 67pts .465%

06-07 3515 (17th) 36-31-5 77pts .535%

07-08 3115 (18th) 29-36-7 65pts .451%

If Trenton has the same attendance problem as lowell, then why do you think moving the team to NJ will help? At least Lowell has an excuse, being so close to the Bruins arena. The Lock Monsters had a good amount of fans, the main problem is the team's record.

I'm really excited to see what Eckford is going to do in Lowell....

I got to see him a bunch of times over the last 3 years and I really like what I saw.

I think a lot of the comparisons and projections I've read are way off base with Tyler.

Some observations... - He was much more defensively responsible than anyone seems to give him credit for. - He is not purely an offensive defensmen, his offense came mainly from the point. - He seems to have a bit of a nasty streak.

Personally he reminded me of another UofA Fairbanks guy that played for the Devils....Shawn Chambers.

Trenton is Flyers country, Brick/Lakewood is predominantly Devils fans and your token "I live in NJ but root for the Rangers" folk.

I lived in Ocean Township NJ for 10 years. Before that I lived in Hillsborough NJ for 10 years. Before that it was Sayreville, NJ where I grew up.

Yeah I'm in Maryland now. Moved here toward the end of 2006. Instead of sand and trees I just get alot of trees and weeds, and people who can't drive that stay in the left lane all the time. I miss all the rude light blinking left lane pushers in NJ who gets the traffic going. I miss all those jug handles and highways where the exits are on the right side only and don't come after the ramp entrances.

As for Cable, yeah, I have Comcast which has Versus, Hockey Network, Center Ice and a sports package that includes all of the different fox sports networks so I can watch highschool, college and AHL hockey.
