OK you are really in luck here.

People who write Torah scrolls are called 'Sofers', scribes. And they make the scrolls out of real parchment. Yes, it's Jewish tradition, and we also write the scrolls with feathgers dipped in ink!

Do you live in Montreal?

If so, contact Merkaz Stam, Rabbi Dovid Cohen is the scribe over there (though he has some apprentices as well). His number is 737-0756, and he lives on 4661 Van Horne near Victoria.

Good luck.

P.S. Check out while you're there how they write the beautiful letters of the Torah, with 'crowns' on the letters and stuff. You might want to add seomthing in ancient Hebrew on the scroll, perhaps your names or something like that. Also, the parchment is real parchment, taken from a cows skin.

And to freak out Rabbi Cohen, ask him to write the Hebrew in 'Ksav Ashur' (literally: Assyrian script).

Let me know how it goes.

Guess he'd better keep the poem clean. Damn shane as 'plank you' and 'thank you' are a good rhyme.
