Considering how cheap we are going to get him, I couldn't care less. It's not like he's a cancer in the room or something.

God...words couldn't express how I would feel if he signed with us for 2 more years.

If it as a 7th defenseman, I have no problem with that.

2 / 1,4M$ sounds right to me.

If he is playing around 40 games a year, he can do a decent job.

I would take him over Dandenault anyway.

If we're speaking strictly as a 7th defender than I'm fine with it.

I say go for it. He's an excellent 7th D-man, is good insurance for the powerplay and might steal a job. Would be nice if he had a physical partner who could back him up. He was okay with Hammer, but then where does O'B play?

O'Byrne plays and old man Brisebois stays home.

Why do we need to have an over the hill 7th defenseman? He's insurance for what exactly? Valentenko or Carle could just as easily be used as replacements if we need one.

As long as he's a #7 defenceman I have no problem with it. Good leader on and off the ice and able to fill in on the PP if needed, as long as its under $900,000 per year i'm fine with it.

This isn't news I was hoping for, but the bolded part is probably more crucial than we think.

Brisebois will be there to fill in if someone gets sick or injured and we can't call up Tank or Carle in time. Also guys like Valetenko and Carle need to play every game so we can't have either of them as a 7th d.

Brisebois showed in the playoffs that if he is played minimal minutes he is still a decent defenceman and he contributed more on the PP in the playoffs than Streit and Markov combined. I know he ****s up a lot but a lot of the hate that Brisebois gets is really undeserved.

I'm fine with that, he was one of the best offensive defender (even thought he became a master in give aways) in the series, the guy's a leader, he played with a broken foot. I Know he's not a complete player that you can rely on all the time, but he got heart, he can make some important goal, he has a good first past (for a Brisebois ) and everybody likes him, the team is realy young and we can't lack veteran's presence. And the guy comes cheap because he want to play here, he never complains about not playing so he could become our 8th defensemen at some point haha, and could be a mentor for Carle and Valentenko.

Plus that means that we get rid of Dan the No because we wont have cap space to sign Sundin. But if we dont get Sundin we might keep Dan, so i dont know what would make me more happy about the signing of Matt S.: him playing in Montreal or Dan not playing in Montreal?

Sure I would do it.....if we had no other choices......Even 1 year I would not have any problems with that thinking that Carle and Valentenko would need 1 more AHL year. But 2 years?

What kind of messages does it send to Carle, Valentenko and even Emelin if he wanted to come in here thinking he'll have a chance with the Habs. Sure the other d-men, clearly will not be ready before then. Nor McDonagh, Subban, Weber or any other guys like that. And if it happens, clearly that's what the org. thinks as well. But what about Carle and Valentenko and even Emelin?

With all those contracts, doesn't Carle, that want to make a great impact at the camp, realizes that even if he scores 20 goals in 2 games, he'll be send back?

Unless......nowhere was that said it was for the Habs....it's clearly stated "presumably" for the Habs.....that wouldn't be a bad news that the only reason why he's not signed already it's because he's looking at all these other options and found a team interested in a 2-year contract........

I dont understand Brisebois sometimes.

Right after he rebuilt his name so that he could retire with satisfaction, he's ready to sign a 2 year deal... I'm not so sure his play in two years is gonna keep the boo birds away...
