new ownership took over a long time ago. Feaster has just been a puppet since.

He should have figured that out before he overpaid for a bunch of old and overated players.

Did he officialize Lecavalier's contract before leaving? I heard a bunch of stuff before july 1st, but nothing since.

He had no hand in it, it was all new ownership.

Richards is good and all but his $8 million salary is expensive. You can't expect teams to dish out a ton of stuff to take on $8 million.

I think the return they got was decent.

About time. Man stuck to his plan of keeping the big three together and didn't let the reality of the team nose diving as a consequence get in the way.

Now, when is Waddel going to be made to "quit"?

Agreed, Thrashers went nowhere with Waddell, he has to be one of the worst in the NHL.

He really was, yeah.

The problem is, the people who've made the recent decisions seem even worse, if that is possible.

Yeah, not a peep on that... as it is, Lecavalier hasn't signed an extention... yet.

Marinaro (Team 990) was saying that Brian Lawton is expected to take over and was the reason that Feaster was being "eased" out.

He made out pretty well for Richards, you have to look at the money he free'd up as well.

Tampa had no need of cap room at the time. They had plenty of room left.

What they needed was talent and direction. Which is still apparently the case.

What they really needed was depth, which they got a bit of in the trade.

First off NHLnumbers is not an official site of the NHL. Secondly, the contract was announced before July 1st and Lecavalier couldn't sign before that date and since July 1st we haven't got news that it was officialized by the NHL.

The last news on the NHL site about Lecavalier is his shoulder srugery a couple months back. All contracts, extentions are always announced on NHL.com, even the lesser contracts like Gorges and Halak.

The only mention on NHL.com is this :

http://www.nhl.com/nhl/app?articleid...e&service=page

"Their most important move of all won't be officially announced until mid-July but the basic framework is essentially in place - a US$77-million, nine-year contract extension for franchise player Vincent Lecavalier."

Nothing is yet officialized.
