Who Could be the biggest bust?

Since we had a 'who will turn out the best' poll. I figured we should do an opposite. Which player will be the biggest bust as a Ranger?

Personally...

I haven't seen a number of those players play enough to decide which ones will be the busts. You do fear guys like Chere and Anisimov being wooed to Russia in an attempt to retain and attract young talent to that league - that's more of a disappointment than a bust though.

yeah it definately is Prucha as of right now... although i don't know how big of a bust he would actually is. after all he was an extremely late draft pick so expectations of him shouldn't have been that high.

i mean if Cherry did what prucha did it would be considered 10x bigger of a bust. I think the size of the bust goes by where selected.

i think the question you would want to ask is "Who is most likely to bust?" which is more of a fair question. Otherwise of course if Staal, Sangs, or Cherry bust out they will definately be the biggest b/c we had the biggest expectations for them since their draft day.

Something tells me Cherepanov, if he does come over to the NHL, will be nothing more than a 20-25 goal scorer. While this isn't a "Bust" per se, I think he won't meet the expectations of Rangers fans and will be the biggest dissapointment in terms of "what we expected" versus "what we actually got from him".

I keep having the sinking feeling about Cherepanov even if he comes over.

How can Prucha be considered a bust? He was drafted in what, the 8th round? Any 8th rounder who scores 30 goals in a season (regardless of what they do afterwards) cannot be considered a bust. Hell most will never make it anywhere near the NHL.

Seriously, maybe Cherepanov, I felt less confident about the guy after I read the article at Blueshirt Bulletin a couple of weeks ago...

If Chere comes over...

and scores 20-25 goals per season, I think we'd be happy, since that would mean that he both came to the U.S. and likely filled out that little boy body of his.

Now we are labeling 19 year old guys as busts before they even set foot in North America?

Wow.

Maybe it should be "Which player COULD be the biggest bust?

Has to be Cherepanov. If only for the fact that some people around here constantly assume he'll be a 40 goal scorer.

Regarding Cherepanov, I think we should now focus more on Zherdev.

Zherdev is more skilled than Cherepanov, he's the guy we need to have our hopes on.

What? Based on what? Have you even seen Cherepanov play for an entire game let alone a season to say he has the highest chance to bust? Sometimes some people really need to perhaps revisit their logic skills on this board, they are sorely lacking all over the place.

And before some smart ass says that he did. Stop, because I know you haven't.

Yeah, selecting Prucha makes no sense. Odds are half the guys on that list never even score 30 goals in a season. Prucha shouldn't even be on that list as he's already accomplished something that many of those guys will be lucky to ever do.

some of these players on the list i dont really expect to do anything spectacular, of the players listed who are high risk high chance of busts, cherapanov comes to mind immediately, del zotto as well.

i also want to add that if you expect any of these players to be 100 point players you will be very disappointed, zherdev and cherry max out at around 80 at best if we are lucky.

IMO None of them will become busts. but if any of them fall short of there potential i think it would be MDZ.
