Habs vs. Calgary Game Thread 19/2/04

Flames and Habs, always an exciting game:

Flames

Habs 60 28-24-6-2 (64)

Flames 58 30-20-5-3 (68)

Who gets the start? Turek or Kippers? I think we'd be crazy to not use Kippers for most of this trip, considering the importance of the games and the high quality opposition.

For Montreal, i suspect Theodore will start, which usually means he'll either play hot or cold. Hopefully for us he'll have a week game.

I reckon its gonna be hard for Montreal, without (who i believe is their best player) Superstar Sheldon Souray...however I would be suprised if they don't score at least one in the game.

That being said, i'm hoping Kippers gets the start and we win 4-0
Iginla 2, Reinprecht 1, Donovan 1

Either way, i'll be listening tomorrow, as usual on the net. I'm just hoping to see that Calgary can keep up this momentum at this stage, and push Vancouver and Colorado to the limit.

I have a feeling Turek will get the start.

I say the Flame win 4-3.

I really hope Kipper starts tonight instead!! Man, I'd hate to find out my rent money is riding on Turek's performance tonight!

Should be a tough hard fought game, Atlanta smyted Montreal earlieer this week, they are going to be looking hard for a bounce back and a win.

They better start Kipper instead!! :dazzle:

If there is anyone of the flames organization on this board, I would like to ask for a small favor: could you please lose voluntarily to the Montreal Canadiens? Please pretty please?

BTW, Garon is in goals tonight.

They kind of tossed this game away. They had 2 weak last periods, and the first wasn't that good either. Kiprusoff made many good saves, and maybe could have let in one or two softies, but you won't win many games with only one goal. The defense took a step back tonight and that was the biggest difference.

The Flames powerplay really needs some work. Although they've been surprisingly productive on it, lately they haven't been able to establish ANY pressure in the other team's zone.

No problem.

Well I predicted this game well. Wrong goaltender, and wrong result. We would have won if Turek had been in net!

Got outworked, plain and simple. First goal by Montreal shouldn't have even counted. Begin was totally interfering with Kipper, stoping him from making the save. If the Flames could have weathered that hot start, it might of been a different game. Man, did you miss a beauty goal by Iggy. When he's hot - he's hot!

Another thought.

Why doesn't Jerome blast it from the top of the circles more often?

He has one of the heaviest shots in the league. And having done what he did to Garon last night no one can argue Iginla's shot isn't one of the hardest in the league either.

Reason for the loss = Lack of puck movement in opponent's zone. Plain and simple.
