Non-Rangers Rumour, Signings & Trades

So, the Columbus BJs blog, Puck-Rakers has some interesting tidbits:

Quote:
Howson hopes to have a big day today, but this isn't the only day left to "add significant pieces" to the roster, he said.

Case in point, the New York Rangers. If they sign center Mats Sundin in free agency, that'll give them Sundin, Scott Gomez, Chris Drury and Brandon Dubinsky (an emerging talent) down the middle. Well, something's got to give there.
Quote:
Also, to the matter of Nikita Filatov's contract in Russia ... Meehan said he has physical proof of Filatov's 30-day notice to the Russian Hockey Federation that he wishes to terminate his employment. The Blue Jackets and the NHL have proof, too, and the NHL has gone so far as to verify its legality.
"There's no issue," Meehan said.
Didn't realize there was now a 30-day out for the Russians.

Guess the dream I had last night where Slats moved Prucha + Backman for Green was just my mind screwing with me.

The above Puck-Rakers blog also said Perry was signed last night:

Quote:
Anaheim signed Corey Perry tonight, so scratch him off the list.

Pittsburgh rumored to extend Malkin for 5 years 8.75 per.

I love how some Pens fans said they would manage to get these guys signed and still resign Hossa.

Ahhhhh crap, wanted Torres for Prucha.......meh

I think it's fair for both.......Oil thrive on bringing in young talent and Brule is a good young talent BUT the Jackets get a nice player in Torres

I don't know, since being drafted Brule hasn't shown much on some pretty weak BJ teams. Yeah he's full of potential but I think the Jackets want the playoffs this year and Torres helps them with that.

Yea but he is 21...........Torres is what he is at 26.........and that is a real good player..........Jackets with Umberger and Torres are starting to develop some secondary scoring and others are rumored

Man their is alot of parity in this league......so many teams have a shot at sneaking in the playoffs
