I'm looking to get a new synergy ('07 models) at a good price and im torn between getting the SL and the ST. Any of you use either stick? Which do you prefer I get? I know its all about personal preference, but id like to know what you think. Thanks.

The SL is 1 of the best performing sticks I've ever used besides the Stealth. It also breaks pretty easy. The ST is stronger and lasts longer but doesn't perform as well. I would buy an SL if I had to do it over again, maybe buy 2 at a time.

I used an SL for a while but broke it after only something like 8 games. I use a Stealth S17 now and, even though I expected it to break pretty quickly, hasn't broken yet in 20+ games.

Ready for the weirdest part? I'm a defenseman!

Get the ST. The SL is a piece of crap that breaks in like 5 games. Well mine broke the first game acutally.

I've been using an ST for 2-3 years now and couldnt be happier.

Since ive never actually handled an ST before, how is the design on it? Is it more of a boxy type shaft or the same as the SL?

Pretty much the same as the SL. Its a few grams heavier but still light.

I've had both and they both lasted really well for me. I think the performance factor is such a small difference it's barely worth considering. So from reputation of SL being slightly more fragile I'd go with the ST.

I didn't like the feel of the ST compared to the SL. The SL felt much more sensitive. I do know guys with excellent hands that swear by the ST though. Personal preference I guess.

My SL grips seemed to last much longer than the SL. Even though the non grips broke if I could get my hands on a RH Gaborik SL I would still buy another 1. Did wonders for my wrist shot.

I bought the SL and it broke in just over a month of use. Real good performance, poor durability.

I have had 2 of each. In my experience the sl lasts a week or two before you don't want to use it anymore. It breaks done so fast, not even funny. So the performance part of the stick your looking for is not going to last hardly at all. Go for the st, its performance lasts way longer. Just my opinion, I have had 2 of both, 07 models too I'm pretty sure. Good luck!
