He's definitely going to be better off this season, hopefully there won't be another musical chairs episode with his linemates. If he can meld well with Umberger and/or whoever plays on the opposite side, I don't think 50 goals is out of the question.

I expect the best we've seen from Nash this coming season.

50+ would really knock my socks off, but I expect somewhere near 42-45.

I wanna see him doing backflips for this team to get us to the playoffs.

Let's go Captain.

If he stays healthy, I have predicted 56 goals for him this up coming season.

I'll be surprised if he gets more than 40 goals, his assists should go up though.. It's going to be interesting to see how he does with the improved linup but I'm thinking his new all around game will result in a balanced goal scoring range of around 30-40 for now and the near future.

Why does everyone suddenly think that Rick Nash is the only gonna on his line that passes the puck?

Are you saying this because a few folks posted expectations for him to get more assists this year?

not at all.

His assist totals have continually gone up year after year, so I fully expect more assists this year... especially with his new linemates.

My beef I guess is that (and correct me if I am reading people incorrectly) is that people seem to be saying that since he will get more assists, he will lose some goals.

With a guy like Huselius on his line, I totally see him getting MORE scoring chances, and in addition to that, his passes will have a better chance this season of becoming goals instead of just missed opportunities.

So i don't see it as a one or the other. I think he is capable of both increasing his assists and be able to not lose anything on the goal scoring end.

I guess you can say I see him having his cake AND eating it.

Did that make any sense? Thats what I am hoping for anyway.

What I hope happens is that his goals go down a little - but only a little - because he doesn't have to force things as much as he has in the past due to being the only person who could score on his line.

Maybe he can give some of his goals to Chimera.

My dream scenario: Nash + Huselius = scoring woes over. Nash scores 45-50 goals, gets 60+ assists, and he and Huselius score 180 points between the two of them.

My nightmare scenario: Nash really is the puckhog his haters have called him. Huselius scores less than 25 goals, Nash scores more goals that assists and registers less than 70 points again. The two of them combine for fewer than 140 points total and we're horrible again.

I hope Nash passes 40 goals and sees his assists go up.

Have no clue if that'll happen or not.

My guess is he'll be in the 35-40 goal range.
