Qualifying offers

What happens to Dawes, Moore, and Jessiman since they have not signed their QO's?

Doesn't really say in the CBA. Their signings will either be announced within the next day, or they'll probably just have to notify the league that they need extensions on each player, if not then they'll presumably be open to receiving offer sheets.

Since the Rangers don't announce these type of things I wouldn't expect to hear anything..

Nothing happens. The Rangers can withdraw the QO's and make lower offers. They are still Rangers property.Or the Rangers can keep the current QO.

I would love to hear Hugh Jessimans stance if he turns it down, seriously. He should have signed it the day he got it and took his family out to diner.. .....could be the last one he ever gets.

maybe he turned it down, so the rangers can offer him a contract with less money. though probably noone would take less, that might be his only chance to make the team and thus ever make the nhl, since I highly doubt he would have a chance with a cap hit of about 1 million...

I know you're just kidding around, but still, Jessiman would definitely get another chance somewhere else. Were we to denounce his rights, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him on an NHL roster next season. Not saying that he has necessarily earned it, but teams are always willing to give guys with his size and pedigree a look. As disappointed as many have been with him so far, he's still just 24. His career is far from done.

Pedigree? He's the only Jessiman I've ever heard of in hockey... actually, he's the only Jessiman I've ever heard of period.

Good to see Moore is sticking around.

Jessiman isn't even on the NHLPA site. Is that strange?

Forward Freddie Sjostrom's qualifying offer was extended past yesterday's 5 p.m. deadline to Aug. 4. "We're still negotiating," Sjostrom said in an email late yesterday. No word from Nigel Dawes, but I believe his offer was extended as well.
