When will Weber get signed?

The fact that Yannick was going to suit up for Hamilton this fall was all but confirmed, but now I'm wondering what's taking so long? I know we've had to get Gorges and O'Byrne resigned, but Weber's contract shouldn't be very complicated.

Could he return to Kitchener?

I posted it in the prospects thread but he was offered a contract (if the article I read was accurate). Just a matter of time.

take it one signing as a time

Last week, BG was negotiating with young D's that are NHL ready or already in nhl

This week, he is negotiating with AHL ready prospects

Weber will be in hamilton

I recall reading that Weber suffered an injury late in the Rangers' Memorial Cup drive. I also read that he was still injured for the Habs Development camp last week, so it's possible that either he or the Habs [or both] are waiting for him to fully heal before a contract is signed. Everyone know that (nearly) all pro hockey contracts are dependent on a passing a physical, which isn't likely to happen if Weber is still hurting.

Give the guy some time to heal, and I'm sure an announcement will happen before the rookie training camp takes place next month.

That could very well be the cause. I had someone email saying they heard he was signed already but I didn't know the person and wasn't sure if they were mixing up the report of him being offered a contract.

I'm not concerned, I would think he will be signed at some point between now and September.

The Day kenrkraft will stop wearing socks with sandals, Weber will sign an entry-level pro contract with the Montreal Canadiens.

Well, it's a good thing we've got a lot of prospects on defense then.

Because of you, Weber will not sign a contract.

Soon, I hope. Oh and btw, Lats is overrated.

(The theory holds - please refer to the poll regarding Lats and the number of posts it takes to see him bashed).

FYI - I actually like Lats. Sorry.

Not sure of the pairings (because of a couple of new arrivals)

But should have...
Mathieu Carle
Pavel Valentenko
Alex Henry
Marvin Degon
Andrew Archer
Jon Gleed
Shawn Belle

AND... wait for it....

Mathieu Dandenault

----

Some guys might be sent down to Cincinnati of course, hopefully making place for Weber

Well Degon, Archer and Gleed aren't under contract for next year and Conrad Martin is, although he could be in the ECHL depending on what happens, if others are signed or not.

My guess would be

Valentenko-Carle
Henry-Weber
Belle-Martin

Getting Jancevski would be a big boost to the D core, so hopefully for the Dogs he doesn't make the NHL roster.

If we sign, Lats better watch out, it's his spot to lose!

There's no urgency to sign Weber.

Cause with the current contract,

3 years : Markov, Hamrlik, Gorges and O'Byrne.

Only Komisarek and Bouillon could leave soon.

There's only 2 spots who could be empty.

Bouillon is gone next year. Hamrlik isn't getting any younger and Gorges and O'Byrne may not be top-4 material. The idea of getting the wave of new defensive prospects to play and win together in Hamilton is a good idea. Plus, Weber is turning 20 soon and may not have much left to prove in the OHL.

At some point in the next two seasons, we may see this in Hamilton:

Fischer-McDonagh
Valentenko-Emelin/Subban
Carle-Weber

Put them in any pairings you like, it'll/it'd be impressive nevertheless.
