Fewest Points by Team Scoring Leader
You'd think one of the expansion teams would be the leader here, and the Minnesota Wild came through in 2000-01. Marian Gaborik only had 36 points last season, but it was enough to lead the Wild. No team leader has ever been lower since 1967-68.
Here are the leaders in that span, with an 74-game minimum for a season:
Name, Team & Season Pts.
Marian Gaborik - Min - 2000-01 36
Paul Ysebaert - TB - 1997-98 40
Darcy Tucker - TB - 1998-99 43
Saku Koivu - Mtl - 1998-99 44
Greg Johnson - Nsh - 2001-02 44
Patey/Weir - Calif - 1974-75 45
Miroslav Satan - Buf - 1997-98 46
Koivu/Petrov - Mtl - 2000-01 47
Klima/Weight - Edm - 1992-93 48
David Legwand - Nsh - 2002-03 48
Fewest Points by Team Scoring Leader of a team with a winning record since 1967-68. The leaders:
Year - Player - Team - Points
1997-98 - Miroslav Satan - Buffalo - 46
1996-97 - Derek Plante - Buffalo - 53
1970-71 - Christian Bordeleau - St. Louis - 53
2001-02 - Yanic Perreault - Montreal - 56
2002-03 - Patrik Elias - New Jersey - 57
1967-68 - Mike Walton - Toronto - 59
2002-03 - Jeremy Roenick - Philadelphia - 59
1996-97 - Ray Sheppard - Florida - 60
1999-00 - Radek Bonk - Ottawa - 60

Cool, I love stats. Interesting:
Montreal - Naslund - 1985-86
How many points did he actually have? Can you post the top 10 scores and actually points for that year?
Thanks Darz !

And then they say habs fans complain for everything and anything.
We haven't had top end talent up front in a very long time....

Nice post, my kind of thread!
It is nice to see that Naslund is the only memorable top 10 scorer of the habs since.. almost 20 year!! When people say that the team needs a star player, I think it is time.

Me too - and Bobby Smith. Habs need another big centreman.
Higgins - six more inches and 40 more pounds over the summer, eh!
Another thing the Habs havenm't had for awhile is a real dominating line like Turgeon, Damphousse and Recchi.

I miss Mats too. My favourite player in the 80's.
A little trivia question.
What other NHL team did Mats spend part of a season with?
