Connolly and one of your goalies?

Hey all. I am wondering if anyone has any info on when Connolly will be back and also what you would want for him and one of your 3 goalies (your choice)

I was thinking something Jason Smith based but obviously you would be wanting something else too. Pretty much any of our super young guys are out (Hemsky, Torres, Stoll, Semenov) But we do still have a lot of assets that might interest you guys.

What would it take?

I can't imagine anyone being interested in Connolly at this point, but I'd start with Jason Smith + Matthew Greene.

I'd take Jochen Hecht over Jarret Stoll everyday of the week.

To answer your first question, don't expect Connolly to play this year. We haven't had a report recently but he still hasn't gone seven days without symptoms.

To answer your second, a Biron + Connolly for Smith + Greene/Lynch is something I'd consider.

Same here, I think he would have been our best player this year if it wasn't for his injury, and he has the best +/- this year so far.
Hecht=

Don't take this as an attack, but how much of Hecht have you seen this year. I'll confess I haven't seen Stoll but I have trouble believing he's been the spark plug to the Oilers that Hecht has been for Buffalo.

At this point it's questionable if Connolly will ever be back. There's speculation that the Sabres won't even give him a qualifying offer and Regier has commented on it so it's obviously under consideration.

Wow, that sux, hmmm thanks for the info.

And as for the Stoll for Hect debate you are right that Hecht is better right now. But stoll has 9 goals in limited and mostly defensive situations in his rookie year. He has prgressed so far since the first game of the year that everyone in E-town is in love with this kid.

Like last night, I think he had 2 assists and was 80% + in the faceoff circle. He is going to be a player

I hope you aren't a Bills fan saying "Draft Clarrett"

How many RB's do you guys need?

I was a big Hecht supporter in Edmonton (still am in Buffalo) but I guess the exposure that I get about Stoll has shifted me one way. I am thinking long-term too; Stoll is going to be a strong leader in the NHL IMO.

Add in Deslauriers or Patrick O'Sullivan too.

I alway's look at the +/- when looking at a player's stats, Plus my hockey coach is a huge supporter of it as well.

Does your hockey team have a problem with line changes when your on a breakaway? Does your team have a problem finding PP players?

Tim Connolly was +4 two years ago, when he was even worse defensively.

Amazing how those players on the ice for the Sabres 3rd goal were so much better since they got a +, simply because the PP just ended.

The sabres have to watch what they do with Connelly because he is young andhas potential and he could develp into one good hockey player. Before is injury many people thought he was going to have a turn around season and he might have. if he does Fully recover from the injury i think edm would be a great fit, the need centres and Connelly is one and they play a system that would suit him too!

Before the concussion, I thought Connolly would get 70 points. Losing a year of development at such a crucial age is not good.

I'd take Jochen Hecht over Stoll in an instant. Hecht is easily our best defensive forward, and he's one of those guys that works 110% every night and hardly ever makes mistakes.

We gave up Deslauriers and Stolll for Hecht, which is overpaying. And to get Deslauriers, we gave up our chance to get O'Sullivan this past draft.
