Arite, last time I checked, a cup was made to protect your valuables. I have the RBK mesh shorts/jock thing and it's very comfortable. My question, excuse me if it sound juvenile or noobish, is what are these Velcro things on the front and back of the thigh? I never used the shorts and I figured I'd give it a shot, but from football and baseball I'm used to the simple white jock strap. Now I throw in shorts with Velcro thingys and I have no idea what they do, or what they are for. Any help will be appreciated, I wanna make sure I'm using the most important piece of equipment properly haha.

YEp, they are used in the place of a girdle. With the combo shorts you really dont want/need to also put on a girdle.

Call me old school, but I never would have found this out if I didn't ask. I thought a jock was just that, a jock. Now I can hold my socks too, sweet. I'm used to the jock, and if it's ice hockey taping the sock around my thigh (Similar to what you do around your calf).

Part II: How do I use them? I couldn't see opening them up and just sticking the sock on there as working too well.

Yep, lift the flap, stick the top of the sock on and fold the flap back down, give it a rub or two and good to go....

I always use both the velcro and sock tape.

I dunno...I can't play without sock tape around the shin pads. It just doesn't feel right.

I second, but usually the shin pads are too wide on me because I have skinny girlie legs.

Because I'm a girl.

i need to get new one of those. my velcro is almost gone. and my cup is tearing off the shorts. idont know why this is happening. but this is by far the best thing for socks sine the garter belt. i cant stand having tape around my thigh.

Where you're going to tape around the shin pad, you should try put another sock to the sicks to make it tighter when you tape around your leg, should prevent the shin pads from moving on you.

I also used it, felt like I skate slower if I didn't for some reason.

I still have plenty of velcro, but as you said the lycra pants on the inside is tearing out. Instead of getting a new pair, I used my old jock strap and use the shorts to hold my socks up.

I tried them a few times, but since my shin pad would keep moving around, I decided to stick with tape.

I just put my socks all the way up with the Velcro open and I'm good to go, don't have to close the flap on them or anything.

I should have got one of these in the first place. I originally got one of those Nike Bauer garter belts, and one of the little blue rubber things on one of the clips fell off and got lost...so it's useless now.
