Folks once again as ststed in the first post of this thread:

  • Tickets can be bought/sold for personal use and cannot be sold at more than face value plus postage/UPS/FedEx charges
.

This means exactly that.

Face value as printed on the ticket plus a nominal postage . Not extra fees, charges, etc..

Face value plus postage.

Any posts that do not comply should be reported and they will be dealt with.

Wally, maybe you can answer this question...How the heck are ticket companies like acetickets allowed to sell their tickets for way more than face value? I just went on their site like a week ago and couldn't believe how expensive the tickets were

legalized scalping basically..each state sets it's own limits on what a "fair" surcharge and or/fee is.

But we here at HF aren't going to police that stuff.

So a few years ago we agreed internally that face value plus what cost for postage is fair for members helping each other out.

Any other way and all hell breaks loose. Scalpers show up here and you can bet the Bruin's themselves will know of such things.

As you know, there are two face values listed on STH tickets. You should be more specific so there is no confusion. Ok to sell only for the STH discounted price, or ok to sell at the higher box office price?

I was under the impression that STH's sold at the price they paid, then of course a shipping fee if applicable. That said, if Im buying off a STH at their price though, I wouldnt have a problem throwing a couple extra bucks their way as a thank you.

If this was near the Panthers bench instead of the Bruins (sorry boys), I'd be all over it.

Nick of course. He's been a favorite since his early days in Providence, which seems like a decade ago... oh wait, it practically was. That game will be the first time I've seen him play in person since the trade.

Good luck selling the tickets. I'm sure you'll have no problem.

box office price as printed on the ticket is acceptable.

Again, I/we have no way of policing who has ST's and don't want to be in the ticket exchange business.

Seems to me though that a board friend shouldn't profit on another member. But that's me.

Same here. It only shows the STH price.

I remember in the past, they used to show both prices.

out of curiousity

If a ticket has a face value of $46, what would a STH actually pay for it?

Gold Level Games

Folks -- Hadn't seen it posted here yet, so here are the 14 games the Bruins are calling "gold level" and charging an extra $10 per seat at the Box Office, no matter what section. Most are obvious. For what it's worth, Seasons Ticket Holders DID NOT pay extra for these games. Surprising omissions are Canadiens Nov. 13 and Sharks (Joe Thornton return) on Feb. 10, probably because they are on weeknights.

Official Gold Level explanation from the Bruins:
"Individual game ticket prices are based upon the Bruins Gold Level Pricing System, which is a two tiered pricing structure classifying games into two different price points, Regular and Gold Level. Classifications are determined by the opponent, time of the year, day of the week, and rivalries."

Gold Level Games
11.28.08 | 12:00 PM Islanders (Friday after Thanksgiving, big demand)
11.29.08 | 7:00 PM Red Wings
01.01.09 | 7:00 PM Penguins (New Years Day Draw, again, lots of kids)
01.03.09 | 1:00 PM Sabres (Saturday of school vacation week, kids kids kids)
01.10.09 | 1:00 PM Hurricanes (Break out the old Whalers jerseys)
01.13.09 | 7:00 PM Canadiens
01.31.09 | 1:00 PM Rangers
02.07.09 | 1:00 PM Flyers (First Garden meet, Bergeron revenge tilt)
02.28.09 | 1:00 PM Capitals
03.07.09 | 1:00 PM Blackhawks (Only Garden meet)
03.14.09 | 1:00 PM Islanders (St Pat's Weekend; green uniform sillyness)
03.22.09 | 3:00 PM Devils
04.04.09 | 1:00 PM Rangers
04.09.09 | 1:00 PM Canadiens

Does the Ticket office close?

Hey guys, Im looking to go to the pre-season game on saturday and I want to buy the tickets at the Garden, the only hiccup is I probably wont get there till like 20 minutes after the game starts. Can tickets still be purchased after the game starts? Thanks.

Your best bet is to get them online and print them from home, i know there are fees involved but its the best way to ensure you have a ticket. I'm not sure when they stop letting people into the game but I think they stop selling tickets to the event at the start of the event. To really be sure call the ticket office at 617.624-bear. Keep us posted how you make out.

and yes i realize i just gave info to an Isles fan, lol

I don't think you can buy tickets after the game starts.. I've never tried before though.

I'd recommend calling ticketmaster to get tickets or go online.

Or you could do what I did for the Caps game. If you get there 1/2 way through the 1st and see a scalper still out front, make him a offer....

I got a Loge 7 ticket for $10. You do the math...

if anyone wants a balcony seat for $15 for Saturday's game, it's yours. Section 307, Row 8, Seat 21 (on the aisle). it's my season seat and I can't make the game.

e-mail me at chris@thewhatnot.com if you're interested.
