OT: Espo signed

http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=243688&l...headlines_main

Him and MaxPac are both bound to the AHL and I can't wait to see how they compare on a similar level.

I love the timing of these signings!

He's too young for the AHL, it's NHL or Q for him.

Why would they sign him now if he is going back in the Q??

they are loosing a year before free agency doing that...

they should have wait at the camp to see if they keep him in the NHL the sign him...

its nonsense to me...

We're talking aout Atlanta here, shouldn't be too surprising.

No they dont, the contract will only kick in once he joins a pro team of some sort. (This year if he makes it at camp etc.)

ok, so if he come back in the Q, and turn pro next year, he'll still have three years left?

Correct. I would consider this a pat on the back to Angelo from the Thrashers. They had him in prospects camp, they liked how he handled himself, and even if he doesn't make the team this year he will know that the Thrashers have faith in his abilities down the road.

Always wondered...by giving him a contract - a part from your good argument - would this imply that he could be a call up during the season?

No, once you send a player back to juniors, you can only call them back up on an emergency recall or at the end of the season when the season is over for the CHL team.

No offense to the op, but I don't see why this is here, if you want to discuss Espo being signed, why not go to the Thrashers board or the prospect board. For whatever reasons, Espo threads dont' seem to go over well here, and if that's the case with this one, I can say it won't be pretty for the offenders.

Well he is property of the Montréal Juniors. Maybe a special thread for Juniors news?

Didn't realize Espo was a Hab... oh he's not?
So seriously who really cares.

This Canadiens forum is turning into a general NHL board. I understand that there is not a lot of Hab things to chat about and I also understand that there is a little "X" to ignore certain threads. But to be honest I'm sure there are folks here that do not want to "Have to" log in to delete these threads. Call it laziness whatever, still the fact remains the same. It's becoming a drag to have to filter through so many OT thread or useless banter about non Hab stuff.
I would suggest to the mods that they make a "Sub forum" for ALL OT issues regarding anything other than Hab topics. This does not mean that it would be one big merged thread it means that this sub forum would be like having 2 separate forums for the Habs fans that are to lazy to hit the pull down menu to post these topics where they actually belong. I was an admin on another forum and to make a sub forum takes all of 2 whole minutes. It is worth it.
My 2 cents

MONTREAL.. I didn't even see your post.. as you can see I agree with you and I am getting this feeling around the board that there are a lot of posters that are getting a little pissed off about the same thing. I just hope that all of the good posters do not leave because of this. But seriously if this continues I can see that happening.

That didn't occur to me, I forgot he was traded to there. I guess a thread for the team is a good idea at some point.

MIght be a good idea and make thing cleaner around here. I agree that there is way to many posts these days that are not Hab related.

Wow... You guys are quick on the *****ing gun.

You people seemed so happy to have a Q team in Montreal, I thought it be normal to have a thread about his signing especially since the Junior just traded for his rights a couple of weeks back.

As long as he has a decent camp or can show some chemistry if he plays with Kovulchuk then I doubt they send him back.

Can't wait for Michel Bergeron to tell us how even tough Pacioretty signed, that we should've pick Esposito 'cause in the end, he'll be in NHL faster....

I don't think Esposito is ready to make the jump to the NHL. Physically he is not ready at all to hold down the fort.

If Angelo is in the NHL faster, it'll only be because he plays for a crappier team.
