Toews being a captain was something that we all knew was bound to happen. He is their main guy and I wish him good luck in Chicago.

Wow I don't like these young guys being captains. Isn't there somebody better on the Hawks that could take that role for a few years until Toews is in his mid 20s?

If you are ready for a leadership position what does age matter? Toews has his head tied on better than most 15 year vets.

Toews represents, in part obviously, the new generation of the Blackhawks. I can see why he was made the captain, even if I wouldn't have done it, but it's not a bad choice.

If he's the teams best leader, he should be captain, regardless of age.

WHAT!?

Toews? The one that just left college? The one that didn't even play full season with the Hawks?

Dumb, dumb move.

Campbell would have made better choice. And thats saying something.

We all knew Toews would be captain eventually the day we drafted him, but for him to take the reigns at age 20 is amazing. There is no doubt in mi mind that he deserves it. His game on the ice and his deameanor off the ice, its a perfect fit.
We have other players that couldve taken the role of captain but there really is no reason for delaying the inevitable. Looking forward to seeing toews as a blackhawk for the next 15 years along with kane hopefully.

Good for him. It's unbelievable that an organization can have so much confidence in a 20 year old kid. I'm sure they know what they're doing.

Your from New York, which means you've probably have not seen the Blackhawks or Toews play with the exception of maybe one or two times plus some youtube highlights. I would reserve that type of judgement if I was you.

Wearing the C is just a formality.

In the lockerrrom expereinced vets and leaders will be deferred to and looked up to regardless of whether they're wearing a letter or not.

Might as well. He's the face of their franchise. I personally think he has more leadership skills than Crosby and was Crosby not named captain at a similar age?

I don't like this give the C to a young superstar bit. But whatever floats their boat.

I am surprised to. He isnt Crosby or Lecavlier but he has the potential to be as good as Lecavlier. He is a great player but being named captain is a lot of pressure. IMO Campbell deserved but he just signed with Chicago.

In defense of this move I'm not really sure who on that team is better qualified to take the position, anyway. So, why not give it to Toews?
