Let's Build Next Years Team - Fourth Line Left Wing

Im sorta ripping off flylines yearly prospect post, and kinda building a twist around it. Were going to vote on the lines for next year. Im going to go position by position, and were going to have a vote for every single player, even the more obvious choices till we fill out an entire roster.

The assumptions here are the team carrying 2 goalies, 1 backup defenseman, and 2 backup forwards. The first few obvious prospects will also be listed in every vote, along with an "other" option. This is if you feel another player not listed is a better choice than any of the other players.

The Roster As It Stands Now:

Markus Naslund (52.83%) - Scotty Gomez (91.67%) - Nikolai Zherdev (78.02%)
Nigel Dawes (72.50%)
- Chris Drury (54.48%) - Petr Prucha (40.91%)
Dan Fritsche (45.21%) - Brandon Dubinsky (93.15%) - Ryan Callahan (63.08%)
Fourth Line Left Wing - Blair Betts (94.92%) - Fourth Line Right Wing
First Backup Forward
Second Backup Forward

First Pairing Left Defenseman - First Pairing Right Defenseman
Second Pairing Left Defenseman - Second Pairing Right Defenseman
Third Pairing Left Defenseman - Third Pairing Right Defenseman
Backup Defenseman

Starting Goalie
Backup Goalie

Dont bother putting up a goalie poll. Just a waste of time. Might as well fill it in now.

Think we'll probably start the season with Sjostrom-Betts-Rissmiller, they both can play both wings, so whoever is more comfortable with each.

Yeah but here is where the problem comes in. What about Voros? What if Anisimov blows Renney and Co. away during training camp? Korpedo looked great in that game against Pitt last year I dont understand why he couldn't make the team. Not to mention Colton Orr. We have six players contending for 2 spots.

Double yoo tee eff mate.

i think freddie is more a 3rd line player, but if we get a revamped 4th line that can score he'll be perfect on it.

i think putting him on a scoring line would really turn him into a good offensive player...but hes been stuck on the defensive lines more.

Voros. Not really interested in keeping Sjo on the 4th line, especially if he's going to be out of position by playing on the LW.

I voted for Voros. I think Sjostrom would be better on RW. I think Sjostrom can be what Dvorak was when he came to the Rangers.

Sjostrom is winning this vote, but a fact should be brought up here.

Sjostrom is MUCH better on his off wing. (On the RIGHT wing).

He is most effective there, always has been.

The other issue is this, Callahan would be the best possible 4th line left wing of anyone on the roster.

And by having Callahan on the 3rd line RW, guarantees that no rookie makes the club (Korpikoski).

Korpikoski, ironically is better on his off wing (RW).

Callahan, ironically scores most of his goals from the left side of the net (his offwing).

Sjostrom is most effective on his offwing (RW).

All completely too convenient, IMO.

IF Anisimov doesn't make the squad then:

Fritsche - Dubinsky - Korpikoski
Callahan - Betts - Sjostrom

Would be the best possible combination on the bottom two lines.

3rd line: Two big forwards with a speedy winger.

4th line: Solid defensively (3 of our top penalty killers) and two wingers who supply hard forchechecking and some offensive upside.

Sjo, as long as Korpedo is his sock on the other side.

I want Voros.

Guy's a hitter, can pot a few goals and adds some much needed grit.

Come on, you didn't know that Valley had a better save percentage than Lundqvist this year? That obviously means he's better.
