Wings - Best team in the league, let alone the Central
Hawks - The Campbell and Huet additions should bump this team up into the playoffs.
Preds - Made the playoffs last year and have pretty much the same team
Blues - Darkhorse playoff team, but no offseason moves hurts them
Blue Jackets - Will be competitive, but haven't made enough changes to fight for a playoff spot

1. Detroit Red Wings (duh)
2. Chicago Blackhawks ('bout time they were relevant again)
3. Columbus Blue Jackets (bunch of lateral moves but they move up because....)
4. Nashville Predators (.....the Preds got worse, losing Radulov and Zidlicky and adding nothing)
5. St. Louis Blues (can they find enough offense? Probably not, and their a step behind Nashville defensively)

Detroit - 'nuff said.
Nashville - Best young blue line 1 year more experienced, Sullivan and Legwand healthy.
Blackhawks - Great young team, not catching anyone by surpise this year
Blue Jackets - Good addition to D in Tyutin, good addition up front in Umberger, +LeClaire, will compete.
Blues - Not much threat upfront, decent D and tending.

I think Detroit is a lock to win the division, but the other 4 teams are all respectable and competitive. I think Nashville or Chicago will be the best bet to finish second, and Columbus the darkhorse. I just don't think this is the Blue's year, but I think they are also a team on the rise, need to find some scoring depth.

I think their D is much better than Nashville's.

My first reaction is to disagree, but with the loss of Zidlicky, it's just a matter of opinion. I don't think either is "MUCH" better than the other. I think Ville Koistinen could step right into Zidlicky's spot anyways, so I'll go with Nashville on this one.

Why aren't you at your post!?

(I'm sure it's been said before. But I'd have felt bad all day long if I didn't let it out.)

Zid's departure helped the defense. The offense however...

Redwings- There the champs and still best in division
Blackhawks- The PP will be better and the goaltending will be more consistant
.....
Bluejackets- Solid team will surprise and push hard for playoffs
.....
Predators- Will decline because of the lose of Radulov and Zidlicky along with down year from Ellis
.....
Blues- Too young on the blueline and has no real scoring threats

So basically i say the Red Wings and Hawks are playoff locks. Bluejackets will be fighting for a lower seed. The Preds will slip out of playoff picture and the Blues will finish 14th in conferance.
