No, I'm not going to participate in a riot, lol.

There's been a terrible smell in my place for a couple of days now, along with a very big increase in flies and various insects. So I tried cleaning up a bit and I found a dead rat in decomposition under the mountain of garbage and rotting fruits and everything. The little carpet I had under the garbage is completely ruined.

Now I can't even approach the place without throwing up because its too disgusting. I already have plastic gloves, but I need something to kill the smell.

I'm going to Canadian Tire to see if they sell them but I don't think they have them.

gas mask won't work. You need to breathe clean air...masks just take out the particulates (smoke).

Just plug your nose and try not to think of what it is...imagine its fake.

mind over matter

I already got to the limit of decency with some of the stuff I posted already... this isn't a shock site

I went to canadian tire but they were closed... arguh. I don't have a machine to pinch my nose, though. I did buy a lot of garbage bags and soap pads.

Damn, the smell is unbelievably strong... I can smell it from my computer chair. I can recognize the smell of a decomposing animal very well because I saw a dead dog/cat on the sidewalk on Papineau street some time ago, and it looked as if it had been there for months, the entire belly was exposed, etc. That smell almost knocked me out. Now I can smell the exact same thing here. Urgh...

For your own well being, CLEAN!!! I just don't understand how someone could have let a mess reach this point. Was it laziness, procrastination, or what?

All of the above, also only being here a couple of days a week. Also when the garbage gets too disgusting, it's difficult to do anything so I just let it go, but then it becomes even more disgusting.

This is two pics I took a few minutes ago. I can't show the dead rat because I'm pretty sure that would be against the rules.

Anyway, the rat I saw is underneath one of the bags at the end near the door. It's possible there's more than one, though.

why is it so hard to take out the trash? dude, you're disgusting...

but i got an idea for you. call your sister and ask her to "help" you clean up; but in the end, she would be doing all the work!

PS: does she have any kids? because you don't want her to get some poisoning while she got kids at home...

Would be a good idea, but she won't come. No one I know wants to even step into this place.

you can like get some money and call for a maid - not the stripper kind, you know the ones that actually clean houses...
the would probly need 6 hours; 6x$10-11/per hr = $66; although, i think you would need to give them a fat tip for what they had to see...

This isn't a bungalow... burning the place down would kill my neighbors...

Besides, I'm trying to repair stuff and hide the rotting wood so I can re-sell it.

All these photos/vids are funny and all but I think it is fake. Lets see the rest of the house. Why only 2 rooms? (yeah go mess up some other area now). Noone lives, cooks, or acts like this unless perhaps a hardcore drug addict or joking. And hardcore drug addicts do not have internet or video cameras.

If I lived in Montreal I'd come help you clean. It was funny before, but a dead rat rotting under the garbage? Christ.... rent a dumpster put it under your window and throw all that **** into it. You are going to get cholera or something living in those conditions.

Seriously, do a before and after thread. Show us how clean you can make it. Spend like....... 3 days cleaning.
