GDT: Flyers v Bruins 8 PM on ESPN

Somehow, the Bruins are only 3 points behind the Flyers, although they are in 3rd place in the Northeast currently. They are also the second best road team in the NHL, so this game might not be pretty. With Primeau out, Joe Thornton could actually play well against a top Eastern Conference team. Personally, I'll be satisfied if the Flyers can get a point out of this game, all things considered.

I fear another 2+ goal loss with the Flyers not even in the game.
Hopefully they will prove me wrong as its been shown over here so its going to be a 3:30am night for me!

im looking for a bounce back game. Flyers have been HORRIBLE in the defensive end the last 2 games. NO way we lose 3 straight games. We find a way to get it done
Flyers 4(Recchi,Handzus,Amonte,Gagne)
Bruins 2 (Murray,Thornton)

The slide will continue.

Flyers 2
Bruins 5

That looks familiar.

Branko will get his first though.

The B's are firing on all cylinders these days so this should be a good one. Philly missing the top 2 C's is going to make it very difficult on you - Joe's been scorching hot and all the other lines are delivering. They came our real hard against Toronto and never let up - that is tough to do to Toronto - keep them on the ropes all game, so this will really be a test to both teams to see who wants first in the East most.

The Bruins have been hot, so this could get ugly.

I hope you are not mistaken Flyers defense and goalie and Leafs!!! We always had a problem with scoring against Burke (well at least last year).

Anyway I always like B's - Flyers games because I think they are matched good against each other and play similar styles.

I agree, i was t the Fleet Center when you guys beat us 1-0 after just acquiring Jeff Hackett from the Habs. That game was the definition of equal teams.
Hopefully this minor losing streak ends tonight and the orange manage to squeeze some points out of a greedy Bruin team.

Flyers 2 (Recchi, Markov)
Bruins 2 (Rolston, Knuble)

I don't think Jillson is playing! They sit him in favour of McGillis(who's play isn't that good lately!) . Actually I have nothing against Dan as long as he is not playing on PP and not taking dumb penalties(mostly boarding).

At $5M a year for another what, two, three years, I don't see it happening. But I do see another center coming to the Flyers.

I love Bruins/Flyers games, they are the closest thing to the playoffs out there. They're always close games, hard fought, great goaltending (yes, great goaltending)...

This one is hard to predict with Primeau out, he has made Thornton and Murray all be invisible in the two games this season. Roenick not playing, who has always played well against the Bruins. But the Bruins are also a team that has a habit of helping out struggling goaltenders, and Sullivan might just stick Potvin in the nets tonight, there's really no systematic approach with his goaltending.

After all this, I'll say a 2-2 tie is in the air :p

Thornton and Boynton for Boston
Gagne and Amonte for Philly

Lines are a bit juggled.

Leclair - Sharp - Recchi
Rado - Gagne - Amonte
Somik - Handzus - Kapanen
Kane - Lapointe - Law

Pitkanen - Ragnarsson
Markov - Therien
Johnsson - Timander

Potvin is goal, so the Flyers have a chance.

The Flyers coverage down low is horrendous again. Eg.

As for the offense. I'm lovin it. Gagne and LeClair are getting their **** in gear.

Hopefully. It will be interesting to see how Desjardins plays with a good D partner like Markov. He's been paired with a slow, ineffective partner for so long...

Can't wait to see him healthy. Even if he's lost a step over the years, he's still a solid d-man.
