I agree with you on this, however I do believe you need to add Visnovsky into the mix. And there's a case of "addition by subtraction" that is happening in Edmonton. Gone are three players that simply weren't living up to their ends of the deal: Torres, Pitkanen, Stoll. For each of them, it's been a couple of years since their peak seasons. Now the ice time goes to the kids.
Chicago is also at/over their cap space. This may handcuff them at the trade deadline. Edmonton has $2.4M in space, per
nhlnumbers.com.
