Dubinsky

I won't vote for a Euro since I doubt they sick around long enough to have the best NHL career.

Staal will be a beast--he compares to HOF type players. He's the future captain of the team.

Nigel Dawes... he's going to be a consistent 25 goal scorer throughout his career

I can dream, so I imagine Staal will be our Larry Robinson.

I have to say Dubinsky... The poise and maturity he showed me last year as a 21 year old is gonna separate him from the group (although I would have to say Staal is right there with him)... I mean the kid wanted to even win the YoungStars game, getting on the coaches to have the team play better D!

Its Staal. I dont think he'll ever light up the stat sheet, but last year (at 20 years old), you could see him developing into an absolutely lethal shutdown defender. Hes going to be scary good in 2-3 years when his body fills out.

Coincidentally, I think Saguinetti has the biggest chance of turning into a bust.

Seconded. I cannot believe the wild expectations that some fans have for Dawes.

I must say Dubinsky, I like how the kid progressed through the whole season last year, that was awesome. He's got great potential.
Staal of course will naturally succeed...

Staal. He looked great last season all things considered, and I'm expecting him to develop into one of the league's top defenseman in the next few seasons.

I'd also show some love for Dubinsky, who looks like he could break the 3rd-liner label he was unfairly tagged with after being picked. Also like me some Korpedo, though it's based more on a gut feeling than anything else.

Cherepanov is the wild card. He could potentially be an elite player, but at this point (for me, at least) he's a totally unknown quantity.

went with zherdez...i just think he has tons of skill, the most on that list by a hair over staal, and if he can put it all together, you are talking a elite talent.

he could be our kovalchuk

and has anybody seen an interview with him since the trade? curious what he is thinking...

Some very tough choices (especially at the very top), but I list the top 10 like this:

Cherepanov
Staal
Zherdev
Dubinsky
Anisimov
Del Zotto
Grachev
Sanguinetti
Korpedo
Girardi

By the way, on the choices - no Jessiman? You just watch, you doubting Thomases...

I didn't read the part in the OP about "to have the best career." I'd still stick with Staal as my choice, but yeah, I'd have to go Zherdev #2. Again, Cherepanov could be incredible but I know too little about him at this point for me to be comfortable projecting him to have a long career.

Same. I went with the dark horse here, I think Staal is kind of a given to have a good career. I think Anisimov will be a premier two-way center in this league. I can already see him shutting down Malkin for the next 10 years.

I voted for Anisimov, but only because I didn't see Staal or the rest of the guys who've already made the jump. Ah well. If I were to change my vote, I'd go with Staal.

i say dubinsky, when we drafted dubinsky, after i saw him play in hartford i always compaired him to Roenick/Primeau in their prime. i got laughed at as well, who would have thought that Dubinsky would play on the first line this past year. not me.

Staal. He projects to be our francise D-Man for the rest of his career and he could have been considered our best his rookie year. Nowhere to go but up from here.

Yeah, it would be disappointing, but Kvasha-type talent (talent?) isn't terrible for a third round pick.
