You just don't want anybody to overtake your precious Kovalev

For the record, I'm one of the biggest Kovalev/Kostitsyn fans so yes, I'm kidding.

He's going to get more PIMs than Danny Carcillo.

What are you talking about? I didnt say that he was kinda of like Higgins I said that hes probably going to be a Higgins or Wolski type player(at least for now) meaning that hes going to give you a good two way game and a bit of offense(something in the 50 points range) if you think hes going to be a offensive machine you are in for a ride IMO

99 goals 101 assists. Montreal fans will then boo him and throw garbage because Sergei does not become the first to have a 100-100 season.

The disappointment will force Gainey to trade him for Craig Conroy.

Between 15-20 goals and 30-35 assists soa 45 to 55 pts season. Anything over that would be gravy!

As long as I see him move around, and not screwing up, I don't mind what he does for now as far as points goes. If he does better then last season, maybe around 50 point or more I would be really happy.

Kovalev had 84 points last year. Shane Doan had 78 points last year. Production wise I think its fair to say its pretty close, no? They dont play the same style of hockey but the end result is that there both probably 65 to 80 points players. Thats what I meant when I said that in my opinion he is going to be a Higgins type of player ( A great two way player that is going to give you about 50 points a season).

How many comments do I have? What the hell does that have to do with anything?

You just told me that you tought he had more offense in the tank than Higgins and that hes going to put up 70 points in the near future. You even asked me if I was for real for making that comparison. The last time I checked Higgins never put up those kind of numbers and now youre asking me to quote were you said they didnt have or wont have a similar production in the years to come Whats wrong with expecting a 45 points season next year for Sergei? Andrei played on one of the hottest lines in the NHL and he barely cracked the 50 points plateau. Why should I expect more?

If he gets power play time and if he plays with a shooter or gifted playmaker maybe more. He has soft hands, plays well in traffic and his hockey sense appears to improve every game. He might be doing PK time though and this may add to his value but detract from his offensive production.

I havent played NHL 08 in weeks but today I decided to play some online games, I really miss the Habs.

Anyways I beat this guy using Carolina 7-6 in a shootout. 10 players from each side had to shoot in order to determine the winner. Fan favorite Patrice Brisebois was the one to win it for the habs with a snipe top corner. Other SO goals from Kovalev, Sergei Kostitsyn and Steve Begin. The point of this story?

Excluding his shootout goal Sergei had 5 (count it 5!!) goals in regulation (higgins had the other) his brother Andrei assisted on all of them.

Therefore I predict both the brothers to have a breakout year!
I'm going to go out on a limb and predict a 410 goal season by Sergei Kostitsyn (you heard it here first).

He'll go through some lulls this season, I think, at which time all his fans will turn on him of course. He should stick it out for a solid season of 40 pts in 70 games though.

As a skilled, 2nd/3rd liner... i could see about 40-45 points.

If he also replaces Streit at the point of the #1PP unit, add another 10-20 points.
