Around $4-4.5 a year. Not really sure what kind of length he's looking for.

Done.
I'm sick of rotating back-up goalies through the pipes in Ottawa and Murray has done nothing to improve our goaltending future. Oh, and we get rid of our current $4M back-up goalie... bonus!

From what I understand, C-bus is pretty high on Steve Mason so they would probably do this.

Not sure about Ottawa. That's a pretty steep price for Leclaire, even with some of his great performances last season.

That's pretty good if he'd sign for 4 years I guess. I don't like parting with the draft pick but the trade deserves a long look. I'd probably do it, actually.

I don't think so. The smart ones of us think Mason needs at least two years in Syracuse and should NOT be rushed. I don't know if Columbus would do this. I'm really high on Vermette, but Pazzy's all we have. FOr all the steps we've taken forward this offseason, a Gerber/Norrena pairing would leave us pretty much doomed.

you mean those who see Leclaire for what he is? a 25, soon to be 26, year old goalie who has never made it through one season healthy. if Leclaire doesnt want to sign, for what he should sign for, and i can get Vermette and a 1st for him its a no brainer. i really like Pascal, but he is what he is, an oft-injured goalie.

I wouldn't do this, when Leclaire is healthy, we have a much better chance of making the playoffs than with Gerber/Vermette.

That's extremely tempting - especially since our D's seen a lot of improvement, so I think the storm's theoretically weatherable - but ultimately I don't think so. I wouldn't be too terrified at such a trade, but I wouldn't pull the trigger myself.

I would love to trade for Leclaire.

I think the original offer of Vermette + Gerber + ??? is cool, but I would rather the + not include our 1st round pick next year, but instead include a good prospect and a later round pick. We have a couple of players in Bingo who would benefit from a better opportunity in a city like Columbus.

If it cost us our 1st, I would still be interested, but I would prefer to avoid it if I can give up some good prospects instead.

Great proposal.

As a Jackets fan I would do this in a heartbeat.

I like the proposal a lot, but the 1st seems like over-kill. This may solve the Sens' goalie issues, but would kill their secondary scoring.

Honestly, this is a good trade for both teams. Sens fans might cry about losing a 1st but it could solve their goaltending issues for 10+ years. The BJ's have Steve Mason coming soon and Vermette will help their weak offense.

I hope your not talking about Christian Backman here. If so, you'll be sorely disappointed.

I'd be wary of this deal, I can see it happening, but I don't think I'd do it personally unless Columbus added their 2nd along with Leclaire.

They got Tyutin, and Commodore too. I don't know how much of an improvement they've really made though. They brought in Tyutin, Commodore, and Backman, but they lost Hainsey, and lost Adam Foote at the deadline last year. They are definitely better than at the end of last year, defensively, but if you take into account the loss of Foote, I see their D as being about the same as last year.

I'd do it! Then I'd pray that Leclaire is as good as I think he is.
