Basically, he knows a couple scouts from other teams and a Swede that hasn't spoken to Mats in weeks.
Like I said on the LW-Beaker thread, Vancouver is filled with promising talent for writing fiction... no wonder the x-files were filmed in BC...

Basically, he knows a couple scouts from other teams and a Swede that hasn't spoken to Mats in a while. How this make it a 'done deal' is beyond me but oh well.
So it's basically all heresay and speculation. They know as much as my 2 year old son as to what Sundin really wants to do.

Wow another Canucks poster with more inside information, amazing how many of them there are. This guy sounds exactly the same as the other two who embarassed themselves by promising Sundin in a Canucks uniform "by the weekend/in 7-10 days/etc" and then had nothing ever come of it.

Sundin may yet go to the Canucks, but I'm sure these yahoos with "inside connections" know little more than you or me as of now.

I'd love to know how the opinion of a scout from another team is relevant. I may as well ask my frigging dog what's up.

I'm sure Sundin gathers all these scouts around him, and tells them daily his plans...

I all but guarantee that Sundin will be in Vancouver twice this upcoming season. Either as a member of the Canadiens or the Leafs.

Well considering that both of Sundin's agents don't have a clue. I'd be very surprised if anyone has any solid inside imformation at the moment.

My cat knows a cat who use to live in Sweden in a past life and he says he talked to Mats over a can of fish and that he is SURE he will sign in Vancouver.

Looks like the dream is over boys.

Brett Favre would probably produce better numbers than Bernier on a line with the Sedins.

Yea I don't think so. My "fake" cat is coming up with his own HOCKEY BLOG soon. We all know people (or mammals) with rumor blogs have solid CONNECTIONS to the "INDUSTRY". You'll see.

It our high-potency weed that does this to us. There are so many houses being fumigated that no one is left unscathed.

If anything, HIM/Barry are just going to use Vancouver as leverage to squeeze an extra 1M or so out of the eventual "Sundin Sweepstakes" winner.

- I don't think Toronto's an option either, I think it makes even less sense than HIM going to Vancouver. After all thats happened since last year's trade deadline, I have alot of trouble see how he'd end up back in Toronto. Furthermore, as Watters said, I don't think the Leafs have a genuine interest in having HIM back...it defeats the purpose of what they've tried to accomplish this whole offseason

- If the Rangers had any cap space, I think he'd be a Ranger already...

- As i've said all along, he's either going to retire (which I think is unlikely) or play for the Habs (which everyday that goes by, I think is more likely)
I agree with your whole post, well said. Also i agree with the bolded part especially. The longer he waits the more MTL becomes his only true option of a cup contending team with the space for him. He either goes back to Toronto or he signs in Montreal. Rangers have no cap space left and huge long term deals with their # 1 and 2 centers. It would be counter productive for the rangers to make room for sundin.

I suppose there may be a silent option out there that none of us has thought of including the press, but i doubt it. Still the first step is HIS friday announcement on playing or not.

What is getting sad IMO is that supposedly he doesn't even know IF he will play next season. He has had 3 months to decide this part now. I completely understand taking 3-4-5 weeks to decide if you are playing or not, but 3 months? Give me a break. You should know by now if you want to or not.

the thing is, im sure he's known for a while.

but he had the wedding to deal with, so that was his priority.

then he wanted to keep the press off his back by saying this. If he had already said he was coming back, everyone would be *****ing about which team? This way, it's not even being really discussed yet.
