The first question is, how did he survive this uber bender?

What....!?

.49? He must seriously be like 800 pounds. How the hell did he not die? Seriously...i ask again, how the hell did he not die? 90% of us are dead at .35

Edit- they said they gave him a breath test..that could mean a on scene test..which isnt that accurate..but if he blew a .49 then he is still going to blow from a accurate breath test at HQ or if blood is drawn get a .38. Which is still EXTREME.

Stanley Kobierowski - sounds Polish. Slavic people know how to drink...
how many bottles of vodka does 0.491 equal to? 1 1/2 bottles, right?

A breath test showed blood alcohol readings of 0.489 percent, followed by 0.491, O'Donnell said, the highest readings state officials could remember for someone who didn't end up dead.

. . .would suggest that they're talking about the more accurate, back-at-the-office tests. In Canada and most of the U.S, two samples are required by law.

What's more amazing is that the guy was functional enough to resist arrest!

Not necessarily...if I saw an initial reading of 0.489, I would administer the breathalizer again to make sure I read the result correctly.

If you have just used mouthwash you will blow so high on the breathalizer, it'll regesiter you as legally dead. They showed us how it worked in high school.

Yup. And we all heard the lame joke about the one drunk with great breath.

That is an insane amount of alcohol. The guy has to be a full time drinker.

the weight owuldn't matter since its a percentage amount.
and 35% isn't outrageously high ur passing out at around 35% when you get into the 40s thats when things get serious... but 49% is just plain insannnnnnnnnity!

watch out for a bi0Tch of a hangER!!

I heard a story about a guy who was arrested for DUI even if he wasn't drunk, because the anesthesia or something that the dentist just gave him registered as alcohol

The court acquitted him, IIRC.

Theres a good chance he had a drink shortly before being breathalysed , that could spike the reading substantially.

True, about the weight, but bigger people usually can handle higher %'s.

Driving with a .18 is aggravated DWI in NY, by then people cannot drive a car at all, and would be all over the road

But most people pass out around .20-.30

Your in trouble at .3-.38

You pretty much need to go the hospital ASAP at anything over .4

Im not sure how the hell he was able to even function at all at .49
