I'll be honest here, while I love what Theo has done and the way he's rounded his game, I also think that Garon has a pile of potential. To say that Garon has played the easy teams is, as far as I can see, incorrect. Too many times this season there have been questions as to why Julien has used him against the bigger teams while using Theo against the lesser-lites. The reason for that, obviously, is that Julien wants those games against lesser teams to be guaranteed wins - or the closest to it he can get.
The Habs are in a win-win situation here. If Garon gets a little more playing time, I feel he's improved so much over the year that a goaltending controvercy may be started. Don't get me wrong, it's not because I'm basing my thoughts on the last few games that Theo played, I know those were aberrations and not the rule, however I truly believe that Garon has it in him to be as good, if not perhaps even better. He needs to get game time and some more confidence.
As to Saturday night, I feel going with Garon is the correct choice. Theo needs a good long break, not just one night. He needs to work hard at practice and get back to covering his angles properly, to concentrating on the action of the puck, and to corralling his rebounds - since his rebound control has been atrocious. Garon played a very good game agains the Flames, could use more playing time, and it would be very good to see how he does under fire on Saturday night under the eyes of the hockey world.
Does Garon receive enough accolades? For that, my response is yes. He's a backup having played few games, so I don't think it's reasonable that people would be talking him up all that much. We are where we are because of Theo, and not Garon.
Now, on to other things. Anyone catch Barnaby's goal and subsequent celebration in front of Asham last night? Sweet. I want Barnaby!
I wonder how many goaltenders let in that much, to compare consistency.

... for the top goalie of the league I think it's not that great
I don't agree with the first part, even during the losing streak, when the Habs actually did give an effort to come back, Theodore let in easy soft goals, that made me extremely frustrated and also the fact he never admitted he was weak. He never sees a flaw in his game and that also pisses me off, he can't even admit he had a weak season( Ma mauvaise... bein elle était pas mauvaise, elle était ordinaire, moyenne, mais pas mauvaise, criss réveille, tétait pourrit).
Oh my God ....I thought I was alone when describing Theodore....Finally someone here says it the way it is.
Who played against Detroit, Boston, Philadelphia, Nashville, St. Louis, Minnesota, Calgary ?
This is so true...Garon has played against some of the best teams in the league in Detroit Boston and Philadelphia in the starts he has had! I think the only reason Theodore plays so many games is because of his big fat contract and the organization wants to justify it. Garon should have started at least 5 to 10 more games then the 10 starts he got. If this was the case Theodore would be well rested thus possilbly not being as bad as he has been lately loosing 8 of his last 10 starts!
I'd like to see Garon get more starts. (Not more starts than Theo, but more starts than he's been getting.) Hey, if Theo is tired, it's obvious isn't it? He's overworked. Garon is more than capable; he just hasn't been given enough starts to prove he can be capable on a consistant basis.
