I'd say Koivu wears it, but if he goes down with an injury, then Sundin, but that's what I think.

I don't think any sane hockey fan would think Saku is better than Sundin hockey wise...

But I'm not sure if that's the question.

Koivu for me.

Sundin would not wear it unless both Koivu and Kovalev are out....

Kovalev gets it before Sundin.

I think the question is who will win the cup first and I would admit that my vote goes to Koivu (he is a beast in the playoff) more then anyone else on our team. However I would say Sundin will probably tough the cup right after if he signs in MTL...

If the question is who wins the cup first, its probably Koivu since he probably has more years left then Mats.

What if Koivu was hurt and the game was in leaf gardens, then.... just to spite them?

At the start of the season, it would probably be Koivu- Kovalev- Sundin. If Kovalev plays this year, like he did last year (I'm hoping so, like all of you are) it will stay like that, unless he slips and becomes incomplacent, which I don't see happening.

Though, if he wants to be a big part of the team, then I say uping him ahead of Kovalev.

Saku is the heart & soul of the Habs until the day he leaves.

Sundin is the heart & soul of the Leafs until the day he leaves.

One will never fill the shoe(or skates, so to speak) of the other in opposing cities.

If I had to choose between the two for this season, I would stick with Saku.

Its Koivu cause Bettman always hands the cup to the captain.... then Mats will get it 30 seconds later.

Well a little after that, Koivu would pass to Kovalev who would pass to Markov to Komisarek to Price and then Sundin.

Latendresse who is really fat and slow will be so far behind when they are skating laps of the Bell Centre that he will be luck to touch it.

Skillwise, Sundin's got the advantage. Also he's huge. I don't know which is the better leader because I don't watch the Leafs when they're not playing the Habs, I don't know that much about how they play.
But my heart will always belong to Koivu.

He'd have to drag his ass from the pressbox snackbar down to the ice in order to even get a close look at it.

Sundin for his career. But Koivu is family. The question is unjust.

Koivu, because he will win a Cup before he retires.

Sundin, I'm not so sure about.

Latendresse :
If we were to win the cup with Mats, Mats would be the 2nd guy to hold it for sure. If we win the cup, either he - koivu or Price will be the conn smythe winner...So he'd have to be the 2nd to get it.

How is Koivu the better leader? I love Koivu and all but to me the only better leader in the NHL is Sakic.

Sundin, Alfredsson, Koivu...All are equal in my eyes.
