Whitney straight-up. He's a skilled young offensive defenseman with upside who just had 40 points in a down year, has Cup Finals experience, and best of all for Florida fans, he's signed for another 5 years at a good rate (4 mil per).

Having 2 Brett MacLean's on the same team would simply be a disastor.

That's the best reason to decline a proposal I've ever read on here. Well done.

Holmgren probably won't be able to get it done unless he gives up someone he doesn't want to.

Give your head a shake!!!! Thats a terrible trade. Bowmeester is nowhere near the defencemen as Hamrlik is....and then to through O'Byrne, Higgins and a 1st rounder into the mix just makes me puke!!!

I would offer Dandenault, Latendresse, Lapierre and a 1st rounder for him....but nothing more.

Bowmeester is a good defencemen, but he isn't worth giving up the whole team for. He isn't better than Hamrlik and Higgins is a great player now...so we would be giving up way too much for him...not worth it.

Florida is in a tough spot. 29 teams know that Bouw wants out, so Florida likely won't get what Bouw is actually worth. But if they hang on to him, then he walks and Florida gets nothing.

Haha a deal that makes epic sense

Florida gets a fairly young top line winger, LA gets an awesome young Dman, who will be joined by others in the next 2-3 years.

Do you think JBO would sign long term in LA?

Open the bidding. The 29 GMs aren't negotiating with the Panthers in a vacuum. They're bidding against each other.
