Too bad Jagr now plays in the world's 2nd best league. I hate the KHL. They don't respect NHL contracts (Radulov) and their jerseys are ugly and loaded with ads, as is the ice.
I hope the NHL never even considers putting advertisements on jerseys and equipment.
And by the way I'm a huge Jagr fan but I think he's a coward for not taking Edmonton's money and trying to lead a team to the Stanley Cup. He never led a team to the Cup. This guy had a chance to be considered one of the top 10 players of all time, but without leading a team to the Cup his legacy has been tarnished. It's the one thing he was missing and he passed it up just for getting a couple more millions.

he tarnished his image by being a whiny ***** in PGH well before this, and followed it up by playing with heart every once in a blue moon afterwards. he was great before this event and this does nothing to change it.
He wore no. 68 because that was the year the Prague Spring Rebellion against the Soviet Regime..
He goes to play in Russia for the money.
And still wears no. 68.
Some man of honor.
According to your logic, a jewish player that signs for a club in Germany also has no honor...... And Africans should also refuse to come to the US to play.....And americans should never sign with british teams.....

sounds logical to me...
It sure is.
If the Jew doesn't care about the Holocaust, the African about slavery and the American about the colonial days, then they can do whatever they want.
But if they make it a point to do something to remind people of your people's grief and then take the money of the nation that caused your grief, well, they have no honor.

It wasn't the current Russian government nor the Russian people that were responsible for invading Czechoslovakia........it was the old Soviet regime. The country responsible for Jagr's people's grief doesn't even exist anymore.
Jagr is doing nothing wrong by wearing 68 and playing in the KHL.
Jagr is the man! Even though I'm bummed that he left the NHL prematurely, atleast he left on top of his game....and didn't hang around stinking up the place like alot of other superstars did.
In 17 NHL seasons (including the '94 half season) Jagr never failed to score atleast 25 goals.....and when he played his last NHL game, he was leading the scoring race.
It would have been nice to see Jagr play another 2-3 more years to see how far up the all time ladder he could have climbed. I think if he would have played 3 more years and averaged around 60 points, he would have ended up in the top 5 of all time scorers.....and when you consider he played the majority of his career in the trap era, that is quite impressive.
#68......One of the best to ever play....and arguably the most consistant goal scorer of all time.

And this is the kind of attitude and opinion that defines people who cant progress.
